Rick rack crochet trim
Let me begin by saying I’m no professional at writing instructions!
This is a recreation of a Rick rack trim that Kelly from shared with us yesterday.
Supplies
Jumbo Rick rack
Steel Crochet hook number 9
Size 10 crochet cotton
Top side(this is the side used to secure the trim to the pin cushion)
Trim the tick rack to the desired length from peak to peak, plus the valley before and after.
Starting at the top of the first peak, prepunch holes at every peak and valley across with a large needle, this makes it easier to crochet through the rick rack.
Foundation row-Beginning at the first peak sc in first hole,*ch3, dc in hole in valley, ch 3, sc at the hole in the next peak, repeat from * across the top edge, ending at the last sc at the last peak, finish off.
Decirative row-Turn the rick rack upside down with the front side still facing, you will be crocheting across the opposite side of the rick rack. Beginning in the first valley opposite the ending sc, punch holes in every valley and on either side of each peak.
Beginning at the first vally sc in the hole in the valley, *ch 3, sc in the hole at the right side of the top of the next peak, ch 3, sc in the hole at left side of the peak, ch 3, sc at the bottom of the next valley. Repeat from * across ending in the last valley opposite last sc in top row. Finish off, turn the half pieces of each end under, tuck in the ends, and whipstitch down at the back.
Stitch through the foundation row to attach.
