Día de los Mu***os 2026 🧡🌼🕯️
I started the celebration with a stop at DulceUpFront, admiring the beautiful art and catching up with friends. 🫶🏽

Then I headed to a special dinner hosted by Bere Camarena , where she thoughtfully honored our loved ones by placing their photos on the ofrenda. 🥹🧡

She spoiled us with fruit, tacos de canasta, and pan de mu**to. Everything was delicious, and every little detail was so beautifully and intentionally put together.

A memorable evening surrounded by wonderful women, sharing stories, honoring our loved ones, and celebrating our traditions. 🌼✨🧡

If my space isn’t clean, I literally cannot focus! 😩😂 But somehow cleaning turns into a whole other project. Anyone else get sidetracked this easily? 😅🧹🎨

LightBox Expo never disappoints! 😍✨ So much talent, creativity, and inspiration everywhere you turn!

I wandered through every aisle at least two or three times (no exaggeration 😂), met one of my all-time favorite artists, Anoosha Syed | illustrator , got my books signed, and picked up her latest book! 🥹💕

I also joined a lighting demo by Lynn Chen | 陈倩柳 , met some amazing artists, added beautiful artwork to my collection, and even got my portrait drawn by Christina Wu!

I left feeling so inspired, recharged, and excited to keep creating! Already looking forward to the next one! 🎨✨

September had absolutely no concept of work-life balance. 🥴

I went back to teaching art in Selma through the Fresno Arts Council, got to share my work at the Betty Rodriguez Library with my friend Rina of Craft & DIY Studio | Downtown Fresno | Visit us for Art Hop, somehow kept the 5am workouts going, watching our house slowly come back together, and basically picked up a second job as a quinceañera planner. 😅

But one thing I keep thinking about is how much my community shows up. Friends creating, helping me, training together, teaching, sharing ideas, and making even the busiest days feel a little lighter. 🫶🏽

October will probably be the peak of the chaos, but after that, I really look forward to a slower kind of pace. 🤞🏽

Until then… here’s a little piece of September. ✨

A few reminders from my first days back to teaching art: start with connection, leave room for exploration, and let students ideas lead the way. 💫

So grateful to be back teaching in Selma through the Fresno Arts Council 🎨 ❤️

One of my favorite things about being an artist is finding other creative people to collab with. 💕

So happy I got to share my artwork alongside my friend Rina’s Craft & DIY Studio | Downtown Fresno | Visit us for Art Hop photography and felt art for ArtHop at the Betty Rodriguez Library.📚

Being surrounded by other creatives has become one of my favorite parts of this journey. Creativity really is better in community. 💫

🗓️ Our work will be up through October 3rd if you’d like to stop by and see it! 🎨

I was told to illustrate “more American” when I presented this piece during a mentorship program.

That feedback stayed with me, but I’ve realized that whether or not my artwork finds a place in mainstream publishing, I’ll proudly continue working with independent and self-published authors who share my passion for amplifying OUR voices and bringing OUR stories to life. 🫶🏽

Our stories are powerful and deserve to be told. May we always be proud of our roots. Happy Latinx Heritage Month! 🤎💫
