We recently became aware of a multiple instances where floral arrangements were ordered for services but unfortunately were never delivered. After looking into the matter, we discovered that the orders were placed through Legacy.com, which can appear similar to our funeral home website.

When flowers are ordered through this site, the orders are often routed to national floral services such as Teleflora or FTD. Because those orders are processed outside of our system and through third-party networks, we unfortunately have no way to track the order or assist if there is a problem with delivery.

To ensure that floral arrangements arrive as intended, we recommend placing orders directly through our website or calling the florist directly. Orders made through our site are sent to our local florist here in town (or to another trusted local florist if services are outside the area). This also allows us to see the order and help ensure everything is handled properly.

We are deeply sorry to learn that flowers meant to honor a loved one were not delivered. Please know that this is upsetting to us as well, and we are actively working with our website provider to address why our website is not appearing ahead of Legacy.com in search results and to help prevent this situation from happening again.

Thank you for your understanding and for trusting us to serve our community.

FLASHBACK FRIDAY: Who's enjoying this unseasonably warm February? 🌞 It was quite a bit different back in February 1936. This snowdrift was 3 miles east of Monroe.

About our historic photographs — The Loup Project was funded through the Public Works Administration (part of FDR's New Deal). As such, photographers documented the construction of the Loup canal, powerhouses, and electrical infrastructure (and snow drifts). We have almost 3,500 photos from 1935-1938.

Loup Power District wants to remind the public that water levels may fluctuate along the Loup River from the Genoa Headworks to Columbus and along the Platte River from Columbus to Schuyler.

Hunters with blinds along the rivers and others using the river for fishing, camping, or recreation should be on the lookout for changing water levels and take measures to ensure they are not stranded away from dry ground.

Changes in diversion of the Loup River at the Genoa Headworks are necessary during the fall and winter to reduce ice and slush in the Loup Canal.
