Solid Hardwood is timeless and will never be good to you if you're not good to it. keep your humidity levels consistently around 40%, If you're below 30% or above a 50% humidity levels, your product could be damaged permanently.

Low humidity will dry out your floors and cause gaps and splitting and high humidity will cause buckling and permanent water damage. Keep a humidity monitor on your refrigerator if you don't have one built into your thermostat.
