Community Gathers to Celebrate the Life of Leon Palm 🇺🇸

GARY, Ind. — On today, Mount Moriah Missionary Baptist Church was filled with family, friends, and loved ones as the community gathered to celebrate the life and legacy of Mr. Leon Palm.

A proud United States Army veteran, longtime U.S. Steel employee, and faithful member of Mount Moriah Missionary Baptist Church, Mr. Palm was remembered for his strong faith, sharp style, love for family, passion for fishing and carpentry, and his well-known homemade ice cream.

Mr. Palm leaves behind a lasting legacy of love, service, and cherished memories.

Our prayers remain with his daughter Cynthia Woods, granddaughter Danielle Smith, and his entire family and circle of friends during this time of remembrance.

Thanks Family for entrusting us with the florals.🙏🏾

🎊‼️TODAY SEPT 2ND WE CELEBRATE OUR 3️⃣ YEAR ANNIVERSARY of OPENING IN GARY,IN‼️🎊
Three years of impact, purpose, and community. On September 2nd, 2023, The House of Elegant Florals, LLC officially opened its doors. In just three years as a brick and mortar, we’ve designed thousands of arrangements, partnered with funeral homes, churches, schools, and businesses across Northwest Indiana and Chicagoland, celebrated milestones from proms to graduations, and invested in our young people with jobs and hands-on floral education. Our work has been recognized on the front page of the Post-Tribune and Capital B News, spotlighting the impact blooming right here in Gary. We’ve welcomed incredible guests like Danny Boy of Death Row Records and viral creator Real Boom Too Funny, proving that our little flower shop is also a hub for culture and connection. Along this journey, in 2025 we was deeply honored with the Urban League of Northwest Indiana’s Elevate Award, recognition that reflects the heart and hustle poured into this vision. None of this would be possible without God’s grace, an incredible team, and every single person who believed in us. Three years down, impact is growing. The vision is expanding, and we’re just getting started. Happy 3rd anniversary to The House of Elegant Florals. Here’s to continuing to serve, inspire, and bloom for many more years.
