even though it's the month of my birthday, may was kind of a bittersweet one for your homebodied bestie.

to recap:

after debating for months, i finally decided that my plans to add a new and (i think) exciting product to the line would have to wait until NEXT year. i know, NOT ideal. but -

i had a bunch of unexpected expenses that threw a wrench in my plans to pay down my credit cards (aka the entire reason i scaled back this year to begin with).

money flow between h | b and my part-time job has kept me from paying them down as quickly as i would have liked, ultimately meaning that it could be a while until i do.

which means that this new product idea of mine is just gonna have to wait, along with all of my other plans, including a new look for vendor shows, etc. 🥹

BUT after 4 years in business, i am finally coming to my senses about how things should be done (aka NOT trying to do everything that businesses 2-4x my size are doing) so the plan is for 2027 to be THE year that i have everything SORTED.

A P R I L 🌸

so much for saying april was going to be uneventful 😅

1. i made the difficult decision to pull my products from - their mission and platform still holds a special place in my heart, i just didn't want to switch over to a dropship model. i've gotten accustomed to not having to ship items out and it's been really nice not having to invest in those supplies anymore 😅 but lauren has truly built something incredible and her entire team is doing amazing things, so definitely continue to show them and their vendors all the love!

2. i got word that was closing - this one came as a HUGE shock. i felt so truly honored when i became part of the fiddlestix family, as i had been hoping for a spot in there for a while before i was brought on board. sarah and tiara have truly poured their hearts and souls into their shop but it's time for them to focus on their families and to take a much needed break, as running a small business is truly a full-time commitment 😅 their last day open to the public is 6/20, so be sure to show them all the support in their final days + show them how much their hard work means to the community!

3. the first (full) month of was a PHENOMENAL success! - i can't begin to tell you how truly grateful i am that this little passion project of mine has taken off 😌 reading has always been something that i've loved and getting the chance to create this cozy, magical space to bring used books (and bookish wax melts, of COURSE) to the "conscious reader" has just been the greatest gift of all 🤍 i'm already planning some fun things for around the holidays, so stay tuned for that! but i can't wait to see where it goes! 💃🏼

still can't believe we're already in may but 😅 here's to another month gone and 8 more to go! 💃🏼 just over here keeping on and rolling with the changes 😌

CALLING ALL BOOK LOVERS! 📣

icymi, we launched our first ever non-home fragrance space at called THE H | B(OOK NOOK), a cozy space dedicated to used books + of COURSE some bookish wax melts 😌

to keep things brief, i've always had a love for interior design. and i'm a sucker for trying to keep my waste as a consumer down. soooooo when i decided to pick back up on my old reading hobby this year, i thought "huh......this could be a reaaaaally good addition to homebody hub!"

M A R C H 🌼

has been the ultimate month of change 😌

to recap:

- i launched at to bring my love for reading, sustainability, + cozy spaces into one little area and to honestly just get out of this loop of doing the same old thing. i like switching things up every now and then and look forward to this new addition!

- i refreshed my local shops with some restocks of sold out items (car diffusers at fiddlestix hadn't been restocked since before christmas......YEAH 😅) + rotated spring inventory into the mix to get this cold weather OUTTA here!

- but speaking of cold weather, i did some planning for holiday '26, which you know is when my next launch is going to be 😌 think fragrances, vendor booth layout, potential "uniforms" for me and my helper (aka mama h | b): it's gonna be EPIC 😏

april's going to be a pretty plain jane kind of month but i promise, if anything "monumental" happens, you'll be the first to know xx

four. YEARS. 🤯

that actually blows my mind?! FOUR years i've been doing this whole small business thing and honestly: i'm STILL learning 🥹

but what makes this journey SO worth it; despite all of the stress with my finances and sometimes working long days and having launches fall flat and feeling like an sbolute failure, etc. etc., is YOU 🤍

you show up time and time again, on socials, at my in-person shops, at vendor shows, and you show me WHY i do this. WHY i started homebody hub to begin with!

it all started with a dream to create a product that could benefit you and mother nature. and you've shown me and this little business of mine sooooo much love and have given me the motivation to keep on keeping on, even when it's soooooo incredibly difficult 🥹

i wouldn't be here without you. i wouldn't be celebrating four years in business without YOU. so thank YOU for being here + special thanks to the people who gave me my start and continue to give me the opportunities to grow even more than i already have.

i literally owe my success to you, and here's to many more years of growing together 🤍 I LOVE YOU ALL!
