⚫️Continue the Story at Gettysburg's Majestic Theater

While attending the D-Day Symposium, consider extending your experience with a visit to the historic Majestic Theater.

The acclaimed film Pressure explores the tense 72 hours leading up to D-Day, when General Dwight D. Eisenhower and meteorologist Captain James Stagg faced the monumental decision of whether weather conditions would allow Operation Overlord to proceed. With the fate of the Allied invasion—and the free world—hanging in the balance, the film offers a compelling look at the leadership, uncertainty, and courage that shaped June 6, 1944.

The themes explored in Pressure complement many of the presentations featured during the World War II American Experience D-Day Symposium, including the planning and buildup to the invasion, the ex*****on of Operation Overlord, and the stories of those who fought in Normandy. Together, the symposium and the film provide a deeper understanding of one of history's most consequential days.

The Horse Soldier is sad to announce the passing of former long time employee Rose Weimer. You would most often find her assisting customers at the front counter, along side Pat Small. She was a sweet, kind, hard working lady. She will be missed.

Elizabeth Rose Aldridge Weimer went to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 24, 2026, just shy of turning 97 years young.
