O.K., now I'm just getting too carried away! I had an old post (you know the ones they use to stabilize new trees when the garden center comes out to plant them) and some wood in the garage. So I had my husband screw the post to the square block of wood. Then I took some old dollar tree arrows from Easter last year and I painted them, added embellishments for Fall and Halloween, wrapped some Fall garland around the post and added Halloween pumpkin lights. I LOVE IT!!!! Of course I had to add a chicken at the bottom. :)

This post is for my customers who made the Welcome House Planter Sign some months back. I want to show you an idea for Halloween. I purchased a "Trick or Treat" wooden sign from dollar tree and painted it for a quick and cute addition to my planter for Halloween. The craft doesn't have to be difficult or take a lot of time to add a festive touch for the seasons!

It was so wonderful to have this sweet group of friends over today to make the Painted Pumpkin Topiary craft together. Each one turned out so unique and so beautiful. It was so much fun!!! And the dessert today was a gluten free pumpkin torte with layers of ginger cookie crust, cream cheese layer, pumpkin layer and sweetened whipped cream for the topping.

It was also special that they brought a birthday cake over and celebrated a belated birthday with me. How special is that??!!! I felt so loved!

This is a beautiful time of year when we love to decorate our homes with homey and festive items that add life and warmth to the holiday season ahead; from Halloween to Fall to Christmas!!

Just sharing a "personal" Fall craft I made with items I had laying around my home to get you excited for Fall. The shovel and rake are actually plastic dollar tree toys that I painted to resemble metal gardening tools. I was so happy that they turned out. I had never tried this before.

I hope this picture inspires you to look around your home . . . find items that are tucked away that you've held on to but don't know where to put them or what to do with them. Let your creativity surface and make a beautiful centerpiece or picture!!!

Hi Everyone!!!! Yes, I'm still here!!!! July/August has been busy with trying to keep up with canning all of my peaches, apples and grapes, making sure my sweet chickens survive the heat, enjoying visits with some of my former Culinary students, spending time with grandchildren and, as always, adding to the landscaping and projects for our home!

I'm shocked that it's almost the middle of August! I have been working on creating several Fall crafts and I am so excited to share them with you!!! I am looking forward to a fun season of crafting, visiting, laughing and enjoying some yummy treats with all of you!!!

This group of ladies booked a private "Girl's Night Out" and we made Watermelon Trays and Beehives/Bee Houses! What an exceptional group of women . . . they had so much fun! They laughed, they sang, they created beautiful craft items and they brought a sweet spirit to the class. Truly a special evening!

This is one of my favorite wreaths and two of my favorite people!!!! They both did a phenomenal job!!!

Home Canning using a "Hot Water Bath" to make our own Applesauce and Apple Pie Filling!!!! It was so wonderful working with this group of ladies. We were able to can enough for each lady to take home 2 quart jars of apple pie filling or 4 small pints of applesauce depending on what they chose! And of course, we had to take a break to enjoy a gluten free cream puff with chocolate glaze!! It is so satisfying to home can and preserve your own food. We even used the apples from my apple trees!!!!! Totally organic!!!! :)
