LIFE EXPRESSIONS WITH MICHELLE LAWRENCE - INDEPENDENT CREATOR·SATURDAY, JANUARY 26, 2019·
Hey there, I’m Michelle! Most days you can find me on my computer with my dog. Sadie dog will be sitting next to me on the couch. While my husband, Chris, works in his office in the next room or on the road. I am mostly known for my community efforts with Boy Scouts and being the “Roundtable leader”, but I am also an avid Scrapbooker, I love genealogy, reading and being the “Sign lady”. My greatest accomplishments are my sons. I am a mom of TWO Eagle Scouts. I was a committee chair of their Boy Scout troop and worked to grow that troop from 55 scouts to near 80 during my three-year tenure. I have mentored multiple Eagle Scouts and am proud of the nearly 40 Eagle Scouts that our Troop advanced during my years participating with it. I’m so excited to see how these young men go out and serve the world! I was the “Roundtable leader” in Livingston County Boy Scouts for 6 years. It was one of the ways I served the community. But it is the best of all worlds in scouts as I work with the Adults and the Leaders; this means no kids and no grumpy parents (lol). But seriously, I was quite passionate about this role and most districts across our Boy Scout council worked to emulate my Roundtable forum. I was recognized a few years ago with the District Award of Merit for my efforts. This was a great honor to receive this award and it brought me to tears! I have just recently stepped away from this position. I was so excited to have been introduced to Life Expressions Décor over two years ago. I never would have imagined that this DIY sign craft would turn into my income when I went to that first party. I love this team that empowers and supports one another. I love this industry, working for myself, working around my family and setting my own hours, and making more money at this than I did working a part time job! It is a bonus that this company is at a ground floor business opportunity. I can’t wait to see where this business takes me. My goal this year is to make Leadership and earn the Incentive trip. To do this, I will show hundreds of women this year who think they don’t have a crafty bone in their body to create an amazing piece of décor for their home through a fun party experience they won’t forget. When I’m not busy with Life Expressions or my family, you can find me watching NCIS (yup, all of them) or Criminal Minds, reading a romantic or historic fiction book, listening to a self improvement podcast or roaming through Home Depot dreaming about home improvements and landscape designs – I have a brown thumb so I need a lot of help! If you’re dying to hear more, here are eight things you might not know about me.
1. I was not born in the United States!
2. In researching my genealogy, I’ve determined that my great-great-great grandmother was Mohawk Indian.
3. I worked all during High School and college at A&W. I started as a carhop for $1.35 an hour and left as one of the Store Managers.
4. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Business with concentrations in Information Systems and Human Resource Management from U of M.
5. I worked at Chrysler before they were Fiat Chrysler and Daimler Chrysler.
6. I married my High School sweetheart; Chris and we have been married for 28 years after dating for over eight years.
7. The farthest I have been from home is the Philippines. The most countries I traveled to in one year is four: France, Spain, Aruba, Canada, & Alaska (so five in you include non-continental USA). I absolutely LOVED Barcelona. This year I went to Italy. Next year I plan on going to Greece.
