It's not pretty yet, but today's cooking adventures include homemade salsa with garlic and onion and tomato from my garden. Plus lots of cilantro. Twice baked potatoes and elderberry syrup. I couldn't believe it when I found a fruited elderberry bush on my property behind the chicken coop. And I couldn't let them go to waste. The honey is a half gallon that I brought from Oregon 4 years ago.

I went for a short walk this morning. I had my three dogs. I can't walk anywhere up here on 10 acre Wood without a cat or two following me as well. I think that dogs are pretty proud of themselves for treeing that cat.

I made a strawberry Jello pie for dessert last night. With homemade whipped cream. I used bran flakes and graham crackers for the crust. I made a box of jello with hot water, strawberry Greek yogurt and a block of cream cheese. And after that was all stirred up I poured it over frozen strawberries. It was really delicious. In fact I have some left, I think I'll go have a piece.

I don't make bread often. But when I do... They say you're either a cook or a baker. I'm definitely a cook. It's going to take me the whole hour that it's raising just to clean up my mess. This dough is definitely going in my Pampered Chef bread pan. It will make for a softer crust on my sandwich bread. And that reminds me, I need to order another bread pan. Because this recipe makes two loaves.

Meet Wally. I just adopted him from the shelter today. I met any other day and I just had to have him. You can see that Charlie's feeling a little snubbed. But they're all getting along pretty well. He looks like he's in a straight jacket, and it's pink, but it's all I had at the time. He was cold.
