Over the years I’ve found myself reflecting on how closely design trends mirror the emotional condition of society.
✨ For years, interiors became increasingly colorless. Gray, white, and beige dominated spaces, and in many cases this “minimalism” shifted from clarity into emotional emptiness.
✨ Now the pendulum has swung in the opposite direction with highly layered spaces, bold colors, competing patterns, and constant visual energy.
✨ While expression is beautiful, I believe balance will always remain timeless. Spaces without warmth can feel draining, but spaces without places for the eye and mind to rest can create tension.
✨ Balance is not the absence of creativity. It is knowing where to create that all-important wild factor, and where to create calmness.
✨ Design has never been just visual.
It is emotional, and psychological.
And ultimately, it shapes the way we experience daily life.
I have a lot of musings about this and look forward to sharing more 💚.
