I haven't made one of these types of cards in several years. It's a pop up card. I made this for a day friend's 40th birthday.
It does lay flat-ish and can be mailed... With extra postage of course. It came out great. It's so fun. It's something that can be displayed.
This is paper with adhesive. (Card stock, glitter paper, glue)

Day 16 of working on the gift for friend #2. I'm on row 138.
It's all math and patterns and movement and some Marvin Gaye. Therapy. Focus. Jammin'
It's healing.
These colors are really beautiful in person. There's this juniper mixed in,greens, slight turquoise, and even slivers of maize.
I love it.
I'm hoping to finish soon... Only 91 more rows to go.

I cannot express how much I love peace signs. I've been making peace sign art stuff since I was a kid. I'm going to have more of these made this year. I have many colors. Excited to get them created. Everyone benefits from peace.

I FINALLY completed a very complicated piece last night.
I started it Sept 2023. Yikes!
Goal this year is to COMPLETE my 4 unfinished crochet pieces before starting ANYTHING new.

These colors were picked out by the person who is getting this item. I sent both ladies the color options and they picked their favorite combos.
I'm making a 3rd for myself...orange & pink YAY BABY!

This yarn is wool/acrylic mix yarn from Denmark....Hobbii
Now that I fully understand this very intermediate crochet pattern, I'm confident to finish this faster.

I have a LOT of new things I want to work on. I can't do it all, but I need to finish what I started. These 3 pieces in 3 different colors and then a blanket.

Cannot wait to share final results. I'm pretty impressed with the piece itself. I fell in love with it as soon as I saw it on IG, I bought the pattern. I love fiber arts so much!

I gifted this piece to a very special person and it still hangs in their home after 17 years. I took all of these with my old 35MM camera (that I love so much). These are all images of The Watertower in downtown Chicago, which happens to be my absolute favorite building in the entire city of Chicago. I'm in love with it. I do not have these framed in my own home.

I realized that I have a lot of work in a lot of houses. I think that's pretty neat.
I love that he still has this. It melted my heart seeing it once again.

Made for a sweet Mom who loves the earth and is sunshine in human form and used to own a real garlic farm (and still grows it in the backyard). I choose earthy colors, cotton yarn.

I have a great chocolate cake recipe (and vanilla and butter/yellow cake... All found online) and now I have this red velvet recipe that proved to be excellent. I never baked one from scratch before because it always seemed like it was so difficult, but it wasn't. I was intimidated by making a red velvet cake for the longest time. It was the same feeling from when I started baking cakes from scratch... But I might have figured a few things out over the years.

I want to challenge myself on what I think is another difficult cake: carrot cake. I have a recipe from the an episode of The Great British Baking Show where Paul Hollywood gave a handshake and the best compliment a baker can hear, which is something like, "this is the greatest carrot cake I've ever tasted in my life" (in Paul Hollywood's awesome accent) and so that's the recipe I want to attempt next.

My mom says my Great Aunt had an amazing recipe for carrot cake... But I don't know if she ever got her hands on it.

I'm happy I can bake delicious things that make people happy... And also make them drool and moan a bit from all the good things their taste buds are experiencing.
That's how I bake.

This red velvet was followed using this recipe. Followed the cake exact. I used I Have Bean coffee, only used .5oz of red food coloring and for me and my oven, 35 minutes was the perfect time.

I used the REAL CREAM CHEESE FROSTING recipe (they share 2 of them on the link) this one was very light in sugar. The ratio of cream cheese to butter and sugar is perfect. For 2 cakes (4cake pans) I used 1.5 of this recipe. It was still more than needed, but most people ate every bite. The recipe is for a 3 layer cake.

These cakes were happily baked for my brother's 50th. (Cake top made with cardstock to match his invite)
