I believe every painting tells a story. There are some stories the powers that be do not want you to hear. These are the stories artists should tell, and I am determined to fill that void.

This piece is titled "Displaced." A new addition to my Broken Windows series. Sometimes there is no agenda or plan or story behind the work. Just pressence. When I thought about what this particular piece meant I felt somewhat Displaced from what I felt about it.

To be Displaced is to be removed or disconnected from a place or environment. This is what the Palastinian people have suffered for decades and especially the past two years

Somewhere in Gaza a young mother sits in a tent praying over her child. There is no food, no medicine and no garuntee of safety for her or her precious child. The air is cold and the ground is wet but her prayers cuts through the cold reality of a oppressive and hateful government who's sole mission is to eliminate her and her child.

Imagine a young couple being so much in love that even a brutal genocide could not deter their Holy day of matrimony. Now imagine that same couple intentionaly attacked by bombs by Occupation soldiers for no other crime than expressing their love in the sight of their Creator. These are one of many crimes the Israeli government has committed.
