A few of the questions I get asked most often as a designer who is also a mom. Motherhood didn't pull me away from the work. It deepened how I think about every home I design, from the way light moves through a kitchen at 6 a.m. to the upholstery that has to survive a Saturday. The homes I lead now are built for real life and elevated taste in equal measure, because that's what a home should do.

You know the homes that stay with you.

The ones where you sit down and somehow feel more like yourself. Where the light hits a stone fireplace just right around 4pm and you stop mid-sentence to notice it. Where the beams feel like they’ve always been there.

That feeling isn’t an accident. It’s what happens when the architecture is decided first, and everything else is layered in to support it.

The kitchens people love aren't the biggest ones. They're the ones that got every small decision right.

Where the door is. Where the light lands in the afternoon. Whether the counter is where you can actually stand and talk to someone. This one got those decisions made early, when there was still time to change the framing.
