With a built-in performance stage, a relaxing pocket park, adjacent restrooms, and a nearby commercial kitchen (coming soon), it serves as the City’s signature Downtown Revitalization Initiative anchor project.

Lake George held a groundbreaking ceremony for a new Shepard Park Amphitheater, which will replace the structure lost to fire last year.

Construction is officially underway on the new Shepard Park Amphitheater in Lake George. This project marks a major investment in the community’s cultural and recreational future.

Thank you to Mayor Perry, Dan Barusch, Assemblyman Matt Simpson, and Secretary of State Walter Mosley for their leadership and support on behalf of New York State and Governor Kathy Hochul.

AJA Architecture and Planning is proud to serve as project coordinator and architect for this long-anticipated upgrade — one that will enhance safety, accessibility, and the experience of every concert, performance, and gathering in the park.

Welcome to the southern entrance of the High Peaks Wilderness.

We are honored to celebrate the restoration of MacNaughton Cottage and the Open Space Institute (OSI) for their 2025 Preservation Award from the Adirondack Architectural Heritage (AARCH) Organization.

Working with the Open Space Institute and the Cutting Edge Group, our team at AJA developed a phased plan to revitalize the Upper Works property. This included the interpretation wayfinding signage at the trail heads and the renovation of the historic MacNaughton Cottage - one of the last remaining buildings of the abandoned town of Tawhaus.

Did you know that once, Vice President Theodore Roosevelt and his family were staying as guests of the Tahawus Club at MacNaughton Cottage when he received news of President McKinley's assassination attempt?
