I went AWOL this past week, but I haven't been sitting around doing nothing.

This week has been busy without the camera. So far I have:

* Made 36 pairs of earrings
* Made 3 bracelets
* Sat down and preclosed at least 4 ounces of rings to keep production flowing
* Got a new keyboard, so I can work on the less than creative parts of owning a small business that I have put off.

I know that there is more that I've done, but this week blew by so fast that I have already forgotten what I did!

With Greensboro Pride Festival quickly approaching, every piece made and bit of preparation counts. Social media may have gotten away from me, but my pliers certainly did not!

Anyway, enough from me. Back to growing my hoard!

I had fun this weekend learning a new weave!

It is called Vertebrae, but in my shop you can find it under the name Reed. The segmented look reminds me of sections of a reed, and the slinky texture is a bonus.

This one took me an afternoon to figure out, and now I'm making a small selection to add to my shop. I'll leave a link in the first comment so you can get one for yourself!

For now I'm focusing on bracelets in this weave, but what other types of items would you like to see? Leave me a comment and let me know.

I took a little bit of a break over the weekend, but it's time to get back to work.

My to do list isn't very big this week, but it is important:

• Wait (somewhat patiently) for my new inventory to arrive
• Make a few pieces from a new weave I picked up over the weekend
• Put a lot more time into my secret project
• Cut and fold so many checkout bags

I enjoyed learning a new weave this weekend, but now I have to stop myself from trying to make one in every color.

There's a lot happening behind the scenes right now, and I'm looking forward to sharing some of it with you this week.

One task at a time, one ring at a time.

Help Me Choose!

I'm curious... if you walked into my booth at Greensboro Pride and had to choose one color for your newest piece of chainmail jewelry, what would it be?

Workbench Wednesday looks a little different today.

Sometimes the most productive thing you can do is know when to step away for a bit.

After a busy couple of weeks, I took today to rest my hands and refocus so I can work at my best going forward.

There's still plenty waiting for me when I get back to the bench, including my new Pride project that I can't wait to share more of as it takes shape.

Handmade means putting a lot of time, patience, and yes, sometimes sore hands into every piece. Taking care of the person behind the pliers is part of the process too.

The rings will still be waiting for me tomorrow.

New Product Alert!

One of my goals last week was to make a dozen keychains, and I ended up making 15!

These little turtles are a fun way to take a bit of chainmaille with you wherever you go. They're small, lightweight, and make a great addition to your keys, bag, or backpack.

I love getting to make pieces in different sizes and styles, and these were especially fun to put together. They're also coming along with me as part of my Greensboro Pride inventory!

It's Monday, which means it's time to visualize my weekly goals as the countdown to Greensboro Pride continues!

I am focusing on finalizing updating my inventory so it is event ready, doing more work on the website, and starting a secret project.

My goals:

• Recard my pendant inventory and get it ready for the display.
• Update a product listing every day.
• Start my first large piece that will debut at Greensboro Pride.

That last one is something I'm super stoked to get started on. There will be sneak peeks over the next few weeks, but the finished piece will be on display at Pride. Make sure to stop by the booth that day to see it for yourself!

Sunday in the Workshop

Spending time working on projects other than making jewelry is a necessity and, on some days, almost therapeutic. Prep work and organization are just as important as having enough inventory.

Today I gave my hands a break and assembled some of the bags I cut out last week. After that, I'm pulling out the bracelet displays and doing inventory.

Every bag assembled and every bracelet organized is one less thing I'll have to worry about when it's time to pack up for Pride.

Slow and steady, one task at a time. There are 34 days to go, and I'm getting there!
