When square footage is limited, every design decision matters! 🔥

At our Off-Grid Canyon Residence, we wanted to create a fireplace area that felt cozy and inviting without sacrificing valuable living space.

By incorporating an elbow into the chimney, we were able to position the fireplace further back, maximizing the functionality of the great room.
We also designed a custom steel floor feature that serves multiple purposes: protecting the flooring, meeting code requirements, and adding a unique artistic element to the space.

It's a great example of how thoughtful design can bring function, safety, and aesthetics together, even in smaller homes.

Winter comfort starts long before you turn up the thermostat. 🏡❄️

A Toward Net Zero home is designed to work smarter through the colder months with better insulation, tighter air sealing, high-performance windows, and a building envelope designed to hold onto the heat you’re already producing.

The result? More consistent temperatures, fewer cold spots, lower energy demand, and a home that simply feels more comfortable all winter.

Mixing wood, metal, stone, concrete, siding, and other materials can add depth and character while also serving important functional purposes. The right combination can respond to the environment, improve durability, and make the architecture feel completely unique to the home.

Tucked into the Colorado canyon landscape, the Off-Grid Canyon Residence was designed to do something pretty incredible: create comfort and independence in a place far from the conveniences of town.

Solar, a private well, propane, a yurt, and thoughtful systems throughout the property make this home a true off-grid getaway without sacrificing the experience of a beautifully designed home.
