🎉 Happy 1-Year Anniversary from The Inspired Starfish! 🎉

Today, we celebrate an incredible milestone—one year since we first opened our doors to the public! While our soft launch took place on June 18th, our official Grand Opening followed shortly after, and what an amazing year it has been.

We want to extend our heartfelt thanks to our founding partners, community members, loyal customers, dedicated staff, volunteers, and everyone who has supported us along the way. Your encouragement and belief in our mission have made this journey possible.

Now, it’s time to celebrate! 🥳

Join us on July 18th from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM as we mark one year since our Grand Opening and kick off Year 2 together. We look forward to celebrating with all of you and creating even more memories in the years ahead.

We have a fun one for you today! 🎲

The game of Monopoly was invented in 1903 by Elizabeth Magie, and was passed between friends. She called it “The Landlord’s Game” as she made an effort to display the issues within society. Charles Darrow played this game at a friend's house and sold the idea to Parker Brothers, claiming the idea as his own. Magie’s role in the creation of the game was lost to history, until recently when Mary Pilon researched and wrote on this story, finally giving Magie the credit she was due.

Have you seen our CD collection?📀

I love going through and exploring new artists I haven’t heard of before! Bea Wain (1917-2017) was a vocalist and radio personality. She began on radio at age 6, and when she was picked up by a label her name was shortened from Beatrice to Bea without her approval, leading to her now being known as “Bea Wain”. In 1939 she won “Female Band Vocalist of the Year”. She was also the first to record the classic song “Over the Rainbow”. Later on, she partnered with her husband to host a radio show as “Mr. and Mrs. Music”. She lived to the amazing age of 100 years old.
