The Purple Batiks Quilt is a great size for a lap quilt. The fabric is cotton and came from a 2.5 strip set. The strips were sewn together in groups four and then cut into 8.5 squares. The squares were pieced into 7 rows of 6, with touching squares alternating direction, giving it a rail fence quilt
