Thinking about hiring an interior designer?
Choosing a designer isn't just about loving their portfolio. You're inviting someone into your home, trusting them with your investment, and probably texting them paint colors at 9:00 PM. 😂 It should feel like a good fit.
Here's what I'd look for:
✨ 1. You actually like talking to them. You'll spend a lot of time together, so if the conversation feels easy from the beginning, that's a really good sign.
🏡 2. They design for your life, not their Instagram feed. A beautiful room is great, but if it doesn't work for the way you live, it's missed the mark.
📋 3. They have a plan. Design is exciting, but it's also a lot of moving pieces. A good process keeps everything feeling manageable.
🎨 4. They aren't afraid to give you honest advice. You hired a designer for a reason! Some of my clients' favorite decisions were the ones they weren't sure about at first.
🤍 5. They make the process feel easier. My job isn't to hand you 47 options. It's to narrow things down, guide you with confidence, and create a home that feels intentional.
At the end of the day, you're not just hiring someone to pick out furniture. You're hiring someone to help create a home that feels like you.
