Preserved! celebrates the beauty found in the places we have protected. This year, fifteen artists have been working to create art "en plein air" on site at various parks and preserves throughout West Michigan. The pieces they create preserve a moment in time at a place that is protected forever.

You will have the chance to see and purchase these artworks at a gallery exhibition hosted at LaFontsee Galleries & Framing beginning on October 2! Please join us for the opening reception to celebrate 50 years of conservation. Your attendance and artwork purchases directly support the continued work of keeping nature nearby.

Before last week's heat wave, I took a lengthy walk through Anderson Woods. This preserve holds a special place in my heart because I was at the dedication of this site the first year I participated in the Preserved! Project - in 2015. Visiting again, for a fresh iteration of Preserved was wonderful and I was reminded of how peaceful and beautiful this mature forest is.

I also love recommending this location because it has a mile of accessible trail!

This Saturday, July 11!

THIS SATURDAY, July 11th from 9 AM – 4 PM, come downtown Grand Haven and shop with 100+ local makers along the beautiful riverfront.

This is a free community event filled with handmade goods, small businesses, and the best of West Michigan creativity.
