The foundation of Kathy Waite Design is to provide our clients with the highest standards of excellence from conception to completion. After several years working in corporate Marketing and Advertising I returned to school to study Interior Design. I had the privilege to mentor under a talented Designer for several years and 3 years ago I took the leap into opening my own design studio. It has been the most thrilling, exhausting and joyful few years as I have worked with amazing clients to transform their homes into spaces that reflect their lifestyles, interest and needs. I get so much enjoyment building relationships with clients and their family members to create environments that reflect their curated lives. I hope you enjoy seeing and learning about the projects that I have been given the privilege of orchestrating.

This month took us from Design Chicago to LaFontsee Galleries — sourcing, gathering inspiration, and finding those special pieces that make each KWD project feel unique. We love getting out of the studio, seeing what’s new, and bringing fresh ideas back to the projects we have in the works.

For our recent install, shelf styling was all about creating a collected look with a mix of art, books, objects, and pieces that feel personal to our clients. Varying scale, texture, and shape keeps each shelf interesting while still allowing the overall space to feel balanced and intentional.

It’s that final layer that makes a newly designed space truly feel like home. 🤍

We love being welcomed back by repeat clients to reimagine their spaces — and this primary bedroom transformation is one of our favorites.

With beautiful lake views as the focal point, our goal was to enhance, not compete. We layered in architectural detail with added trim, and curated a gallery wall to highlight our clients’ incredible art collection.

From the first concept to the final reveal, this space now feels like a true reflection of how they live — personal, elevated, and connected to its surroundings. 🤍
