The Sparta community SHOWED UP last weekend for Michigan Market Managers Market on the Bridge during Apple Festival- and I cannot thank you all enough!
When I arrived Saturday morning, I realized that my tent broke over night and was holding 5-10 gallons of water. 🌊 😮 I called my husband who ran to buy a new tent, bring new tablecloths and help me set it up.
I was lucky that my product was not ruined. My crates took some water damage, but were still usable, and a few plushies were quite wet, but most just felt damp.
By the time I got everything tore down, dried as best I could, and set back up it was nearly 1pm and the market was closing early at 3pm. I was hoping it was at least recoup the tent cost that day and you all blew me away! - My sales in those 2 hours that I was setup was THE SAME as Friday’s sales. I cannot express how thankful I am to every person who stopped in and bought stuffies from me (even if a tad damp!) It meant more than you know after a chaotic morning.
Bonus! I brought everything home and bagged it into laundry bags and ran it through the dryer on the lowest heat setting. 🤞 Crossed my fingers and hoped I wasn’t ruining everything.
The result? Everything survived and looked and smelled brand new! 😅
Let’s just say, I will ALWAYS pack up in a chance of rain. That little tent survived some big storms (bigger than this past weekend!) but it finally gave out. I won’t push my luck again!
