Well, friends and prospective shoppers, Nita & myself, (Lisa) have decided to not open the shop tomorrow (Thursday, June 11, 2026).
We had a great day today working around the Red Hill Ranch but then extenuating circumstances happened!
Our beautiful beast of a mower broke down (fuel filter got bounced around with me mowing a very bumpy few acres due to the armadillo family that resides here). We all know what armadillos do. They make deep holes foraging for grub worms. Holes of varying width & depth all over the place! Bumpy ride, for sure! The fuel filter evidently came to rest on the oil filter of said mower and the heat from the oil filter melted a hole in fuel filter. I broke down and with precious gasoline running freely everywhere! So, the other items on the chore list got pushed back, WAY back (plus making supper, potato soup, Nita Sue's favorite!).
We "farm-girl" engineered a temporary fix (duct tape & a prayer) to get it back to the barn. It held, but barely got me back! I cussed some, too. Just sayin'.
After mowing, we were planning to take Lovie dog to "country beauty salon". She's a great pyrenees, a sweet rescue dog we've had since about 2007. She's very geriatric, but happy as she can be! Lovie has developed an ear problem. She desperately needs a summer shave and ears cleaned and treated.
And! ZuZu's hooves need picking out, again.
There's more, but won't bore you with details. We are hoping Friday and Saturday will be better to get Pop & Gran's Antiques & More open & ready for you all to come out to have an opportunity to look around our shop.
