Vaulted ceilings can be extremely loud on the second floor of a home or just out of place in their setting. A dramatic space is not always whats needed in a home just for the sake of having it. So in this case, we lowered the ceiling of our clients living room and gained this incredible office / hang out space above it with views of the whole lake and beyond. One of my favorite spaces I have done and I know the client feels the same:)

I call my attic space my ode to the Royal Tenenbaums, one of my favorite movies of all time. We drenched the entire attic in pattern, texture and whimsy at every turn and I still love climbing those stairs so much each time. The transformation of the whole attic space was my favorite part of the renovation.

At the end of our renovation of our home it became very clear that the white sheetrock walls of the attic were just not going to cut it. If you have not seen the full space I encourage you to go to our YouTube page and see the full feature on this amazing space with a library, bathroom, movie room and two guest rooms. XO Jess
