One of my favorite girl’s afternoons.

Last week, my daughter, daughter-in-law, and I escaped to The Whitby Hotel in Manhattan for afternoon tea. For a few hours, we left behind our emails, errands, and responsibilities, and simply enjoyed being together.

That’s what I love about afternoon tea. It’s special. It’s an event.

There’s a rhythm to it. Sweet and savory served side by side. Beautiful china. Tiered trays. A proper pot of tea.

Growing up in England, afternoon tea always felt like a celebration of slowing down. It’s indulgent in the best way, not because of what’s on the table, but because of the atmosphere it creates and the people you share it with.

Some traditions never lose their charm. ❤️

From London to Venice, Florence, Paris, Antwerp, and eventually New York, each city left its mark on how I see beauty, harmony, craftsmanship, and home.

The spaces I create today are shaped as much by lived experience as formal training. I draw inspiration from rich European design styles rather than trends, crafting interiors that feel timeless rather than temporary.

Today marks 100 years since the birth of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

As a young girl I waved my Union Jack as she drove past our school - and she smiled and waved back. I later had the privilege of performing for her at the Royal Festival Hall with my school choir. Memories I will always cherish.

A truly remarkable woman who shaped a generation. Rest in peace, Your Majesty.
