Today marks 100 years since the birth of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

As a young girl I waved my Union Jack as she drove past our school - and she smiled and waved back. I later had the privilege of performing for her at the Royal Festival Hall with my school choir. Memories I will always cherish.

A truly remarkable woman who shaped a generation. Rest in peace, Your Majesty.

Last week l had the pleasure of attending Alexa Hampton’s event at the Theodore Alexander showroom in Manhasset - a beautiful introduction to her new Marlborough collection and a celebration of her latest book.

Alexa has long been one of my favorite designers - the way she reinterprets traditional design for modern living resonates deeply with my own design philosophy: honoring the past, designing for the present, and creating homes that endure well into the future. That’s at the heart of my work.
