Some oldies but goodies! (If I do say so……hahahahahahaha). the three sculptural pieces measure about 22 inches in height. Still trying to get good resources for my clay studio near our new home in Mexico. I’d really like to explore some of the local clay bodies that are common to Mexico which have a rich array of shades from a soft doeskin to a rich terra cotta!

Greetings everyone! I’m not quite sure what caused such a dramatic increase in Stonewall Pottery…..but I would like to thank you all for your interest and to whoever posted my work somewhere that gave it it significant exposure. I would also like to share that we moved to Mexico a few months ago and I am currently exploring setting up my own studio (as I have not found a suitable collective to work with). I am very excited about returning to the clay arts but at this time am not sure of how long the process will take as I need appropriate equipment (kiln, wheel) and a good resource for clay bodies and glazes. I will keep you updated re the progress. If anyone lives near Lake Chapala, Jalisco, Mexico or Guadalajara and has info, please let me know. The pottery above was completed in Arizona and are good representations of my thrown pottery which incorporates organic elements like horn, fossils, semiprecious stones, leather, shells, etc. Again, Thank you for your interest…. Waiting to be seated at our favorite Mexican restaurant in Ajijic! The food is MAGICAL! And like many streets/homes in the area….its drowning in flowers and color….as is all of Mexico! We definitely made the right decision!

I wanted to take a moment to acknowledge the flood of new subscribers to my page. I’m not sure how or why this happened after such a long hiatus….but it is greatly appreciated. I also sincerely value those who have been loyal and supportive from
the beginning. Update……I’ve been unable for find an existing studio that would allow me the freedom I valued in Green Valley, Arizona - BUT…..we will be moving to the Lake Chapala area of Mexico this year. There is a clay collective there that I hope to join to begin my ceramic work again! I’m also hoping that I will be given the great opportunity to teach children and adults at the Lake Chapala Society. In the meantime, I have spent the last couple of years working on quilt design and fabric art skills. It’s been quite a learning curve. Here is an example of my work which uses recycled old jeans from a charity shop onto which I have stitched with a traditional Japanese stitching method called SASHIKO. It’s not clay, but I’m enjoying the process very much. Thanks again for all your support and I will look forward to sharing ceramic art once I get set up in Mexico.

To all my loyal friends and fans. I forgot to post that we have moved back to Chicago and I have not as yet found a suitable studio to work from. In the meantime I’m quilting. If and and when I return to clay….I will post something.
