WHAT A FABULOUS EXPERIENCE to be invited to speak at the 2023 BrandSource Conference in Nashville, Tenn. about design trends & Retail Solutions!!! Thanks to Michael Posa VP of marketing for the invite! I was able to share The High Point Connection concept & what we do differently to creat brand locality!
It was a packed room with approximately 170 eager retails this morning!

DESIGN ON A DIME UPDATE:
WE FINIALLY COMPLETED the renovation of this 1980’s store front with the new exterior road sign yesterday!! We added the faux boxwood sheeting on top of canopy to help cover the ugly brown shingles, along with more outdoor artificial silk flowers to cover where the old sign was removed. Our new exterior road sign calls out “Colseouts, Furniture, Rugs& Decor”

While taking my dog to the vet today in Clemmons NC, I passed this very 1970’s style exterior, complete with a mansard roof & colonel blasters along the roof line!! Talk about deja’ve, I can’t tell you how many exterior renovations I did in the late 80’s and early 90’s that had this design. Free standing Ethan Allen stores were notorious for using this look back in the day… and look how far they have come in exterior branding & design!! Ooh la la

“Design on a Dime”

This is a story about reviving a vacant dated 1980’s building in the heart of Historic Jamestown NC. My real job is Architectural & Product Designer for the Homefurnishings Industry. My team and I are responsible for designing over 25 million sq ft of retail & wholesale showrooms globally at “Connie Post Affordable Design Solutions”. . When I decided to open this store in the heart of Jamestown I knew immediately what I wanted to transform it into! I call it “Design on a Dime” treatment, with approximately $6000 spent on this transformation. I had just returned from a month long vacation to the South of France, a Greek cruise, stops in Italy and Spain. I was heavily influenced by the spectacular amount of flowers over all the buildings in Europe. So I decided to lime wash the dated red brick, remove the tired sign, added an arch filled with artificial outdoor flowers. I up-cycled all the flower pots from my house and filled them with artificial botanical flowers as well! I also used plastic sheeting of Boxwood to cover part of the enormous front brown canopy, plus fresh signs on the building. Thus recreating the influence of my euro vacation to attract the female consumer.
We had over 100 people for our official grand opening and ribbon cutting with the Honorable Martha Wolfe, Mayor Pro-Tem. Our sales were above expectations and truly amazing!
The High Point Connection specializes in show room samples of furniture, decor & rugs from the High Point Furniture Market all sold at true Wholesale Prices with showroom tags still on each piece. I have worked hard to create an environment of design, vignettes of furniture, color stories for easy shopping, unique one of a kind items & fun shopping experience. We serve free sparking white wine all day everyday with the motto “ Sip & Shop with us!” I truly believe “A Beautiful Room Will Change Your Life!” Connie Post

HALLELUJAH!!! Exterior designs have been approved!! Inspired my my month long vacation to Greece, France, Italy & Spain last fall!! I designed the exterior to feel like a vacation getaway transforming the ugly 80’s brown building into a fabulous place to shop!!! Watch for changes coming soon…. Oooh La La!
