Whatsup with the Honey?
Last year our bees produced 45 gallons of honey and the community response was amazing! So overwhelming that we are temporarily out of honey. The harvesting of honey in Scott Valley takes place during a small window of time during mid-July through September and the amount depends on weather and resources. As responsible Beekeepers we have to also leave enough for the bees so that they can make it through the long year ahead.
You can 'bee' sure that we will announce when the first honey crop is available so you can enjoy pure, local, raw, wildflower honey from Scott Valley again. Thank you!

During our spring hive clean up and inspections today, we found that two hives have been incredibly busy during the last two weeks. Here is an example of newly-drawn honeycomb in an empty box that was temporarily placed for ventilation. It's amazing what they can do in a short period of time!
