Our Commercial Design Team just returned from their trip to Chicago to attend NeoCon and Fulton Market, and they would love to share their experience and thoughts!

NeoCon and Fulton Market are conventions featuring new materials and furniture specific to commercial interior design. This trip served as both a learning and bonding experience for our team.

We noticed these trends:
-Wine color has made its mark everywhere
-Retro-themed releases (specifically flooring)
-Wrapped back chairs (wood veneers)
-Mixed finishes on seating
-Glossy or glass tabletop finishes
-Welted seams
-Layered coffee tables

Meet Ashlee Miller, our Junior Commercial Designer and a key member of our team. Ashlee graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Architecture and Design last year, and she focuses on using her design skills to create unique commercial spaces that reflect the client's personality as well as the identity of their business.

Ashlee enjoys the technical parts of the design process, and she prioritizes the details each step of the way. Outside of work, you'll find Ashlee spending time with family, baking, or finding her new favorite Greenville spot.

Her work reflects her mission; creating well-designed commercial spaces that should feel as intuitive as they are intentional.

Our latest commercial project at Foothills Pediatric Dentistry is officially complete. From the moment families enter, they’re greeted by a custom tree sculpture—a collaboration with that sets the tone for the space-both playful and grounded.

Throughout the design, we focused on creating environments that ease anxiety for young patients: soft color palettes of sage, teal, and warm neutrals, organic forms that mirror nature, and thoughtful artwork that feels approachable rather than clinical.

The break room balances function with comfort—a space where the team can reset between appointments. Custom lighting, natural materials, and curated details remind us that well-designed spaces support both patients and practitioners.

This project reflects the collaborative process we value most: working alongside skilled partners to create spaces that serve their purpose with care and intention.

For Elizabeth Seay, lead commercial designer, the recently completed Foothills Pediatric Dentistry in Spartanburg brought three standout favorites:

1. The sculptural lobby tree structure, crafted in partnership with , that brings the woodland theme to life in an artistic, unexpected way.

2. The playful colored stripes flanking each treatment room, turning functional wayfinding into moments of delight.

3. And the collaboration itself— working alongside her fellow commercial designers, Kailey and Ashley, made the process as rewarding as the result.

Site visits are among the “in-between moments” where design meets reality. Lead Residential Designer, Chisana, walked through an ongoing project with to review finishes and ensure every detail translates from vision to installation.
It’s one thing to specify materials and finishes on paper, it’s another to see them come together in the space, under the right light, at the right scale.

We caught up with Katie Skoloff and Elizabeth Seay, lead designers behind Arvé Aesthetic’s state-of-the-art medical spa at The Commons, as the project came to a close.

Joined by Eric Seagle, co-owner of Dovetail Construction, we reflected on the full vision of the space: where it began, how it evolved, and what it was always meant to become.

From early walkthroughs to final installations, this project has been rooted in intention and collaboration at every level.
