⭐ Introducing our US & Canada Star Painters 2026 🇺🇸 🇨🇦

Handpicked by Sloan for their use of color, vision, techniques and talents, we’re shining a light on their creativity and artistry over the summer.

Today we’re loving this whimsical dresser painted by Karen Gibson August Wren Furniture in Madison, WI that she's called Midsummer Flight. The sweet design is inspired by the view from her kitchen window where she watches colourful birds come out to play.

The base Chalk Paint® is Antibes Green, painted onto a top of Capri Pink and English Yellow and sanded away to reveal unexpected pops of color.

An extra special element is that the birds were hand-painted onto watercolour paper and then collaged onto the furniture. What a clever technique and what a wonderful statement piece.

Today, we're remembering Dolly Parton and the color she brought into the world.
She never believed in blending in. Through music, style, humor, generosity, and a whole lot of rhinestones, Dolly reminded us that individuality is something to celebrate.
That's a sentiment we hold dear at Annie Sloan too. Creativity doesn't have to be quiet. Color doesn't need permission. And the things that make you different are often the things that make life more beautiful.

⭐ Introducing our US & Canada Star Painters 2026 🇺🇸 🇨🇦

Handpicked by Annie Sloan for their use of color, vision, techniques and talents, we’re shining a light on their creativity and artistry over the summer.

Today, we’ve been transported to Morocco for a Monday Makeover by Carina Reimers - House Warmingsin Cleveland, Ohio who has combined her love for Moroccan interiors and colors with a nod to American SouthWest influences to create a piece that has a cross-cultural aesthetic. She said: “I enjoy mixing styles and aesthetics as they reflect the global interconnected world we live in”

Chalk Paint® used:
Burgundy, Coco, Jaipur Pink, Arles, Old White, Florence, Olive

Techniques:
Carina used texture making, blending and washing to create a clever patina effect. She starting with a base of Burgundy and then left a 1/3 cup of a paint to dry until it had a thicker consistency which she then used to create a stippling effect. She then blended in Jaipur Pink, applied some light sanding and scraping, to reveal the colour underneath, before finishing off with a light wash.

Painting a geometric design on a large, rounded surface is no small challenge, but the finished piece proves that a little creativity and a lot of courage can take furniture somewhere completely unexpected.

When creativity gives back. ❤️

We love the story behind this beautiful makeover by Jill Bednar, who donated her time and talent to transform this traditional brown dresser for Habitat for Humanity.

Using Annie Sloan Chalk Paint® in Pure White, Athenian Black Satin Paint, and Modern Gold Metallic Paint, Jill gave this piece an entirely new look, with the goal of helping Habitat raise money for the important work they do in their community.

The finished piece is now on display at Gift Co., an Annie Sloan Flagship Shop, where it’s getting its moment in the window before finding its new home.

A beautiful makeover, a talented painter, and a piece of furniture helping make a difference. We think that’s something pretty special. ✨
