Hear ye, hear ye: Idlenot Fibersmiths will be CLOSED on Sunday, June 21 so we can celebrate the dudes in our lives who are dads...but we've got good news: We're still open today (Friday) until 4pm and tomorrow (Saturday) from 11am - 4pm so you can swing by and grab some super fun and unique gifts that dad will truly love. (Felt ball slingshots, his very own metal harmonica or kazoo, Be Awesome Today travel mugs, or a 100% wool pennant from Oxford Pennant to name just a few options...) See you soon!

Yup, it’s time for another Things We Love Thursday, and this week we’ve got a doozy! We’re super excited to announce we’ve got a new artisan at Idlenot - Ranna Wells brings her ice and bleach dyed duds to a new level, each one of a kind and each one better than the next. While the shirts pictured are upcycled thrift finds, just WAIT until you see her beautiful (and comfy cozy and trendy and funky) jumpers. Stop by the shop and see them in person - we promise you won’t be disappointed. (We’re open tonight - Thursday - until 7pm and 11am - 4pm Friday and Saturday. Please note that we will be closed on Sunday to celebrate Father’s Day with our families.)

Did you know that at Idlenot we have a Be You-tiful color way that celebrates Pride all year long? Available in our delicious silk mohair blend, DK, worsted, and bulky weights, 10% of the proceeds of the sale of every skein is donated to Battenkill Valley Pride. Now THAT is something to love! Happy Things We Love Thursday!

Heck yeah! We love to see the next generation finding unexpected uses for fiber arts in their lives, and Zachary is doing just that! His mom is one of our regulars at our weekly maker meetups so we'd heard about his chicken saddle project, and while some of us were disappointed it didn't involve miniature cowboys and tiny rodeo dioramas, we love seeing Zachary tackle the problem of his family's chickens' feather loss and find a creative (and fun) solution. Way to go, Zachary!!

Hi my name is Zachary Traunig. I am 13 years old and I go to Cambridge central school. I am sewing and selling chicken saddles for my 8th grade agriculture project.

I got this idea because my chickens had feather loss. My mom had talked about chicken saddles, so I decided to make some and it caught on. I decided to use fun fabric and make them reversible too. There is a layer of felt/fleece on the inside for extra padding.

For the next month I will be selling the chicken saddles for $15 a piece. I will have other fabric patterns as well. If you would like a saddle, please email me at - [email protected].

We’re having a moment with our fiesta tweed DK yarn. With neon Donegal tweed neps sprinkled throughout this extra-fine superwash merino, we couldn’t resist dying up some extra-fun, extra-bright, summery colors to go with them. Perfect for a light summer tee or an unexpected detail, these freshly dyed skeins are definitely what we’re loving this week. Happy Things We Love Thursday!

This is the time of year that we’re totally loving our 100% vintage wool twin size camp blankets. Perfect to toss on the ground for an impromptu picnic during a concert or to wrap around your shoulders while sitting by the campfire, you’ll wonder what you ever did without ‘em. Happy Things We Love Thursday!

It’s another Things We Love Thursday, and what could we love more than being able to take a little bit of Idlenot wherever we go with this super cool (or hot) travel mug? A reminder not to take your day too seriously and to be awesome today, this is one thing we know you’ll love too. ❤️

Happy Muthah's Day to everyone who fills that role, in whatever form that may take! Idlenot will be closed today while Kate and Mackenzie hang out with their respective families (and probably spend most of the day knitting or crocheting).
