Nature in Clay Ceramics Studio Nature in Clay is located on the Hamakua Coast of the island of Hawaii. Its ceramics is inspired by nature, which is the theme for its unique pieces.

Nature in Clay’s ceramist, Marion Nipper, is a retired marine biologist who discovered her love for ceramics towards the end of her scientific career. All sorts of forms found in nature, including marine creatures, plants, their flowers and leaves, birds and insects, among others, serve as inspiration sources. Although my initial passion was for functional pottery, both hand built and wheel thrown, Nature in Clay currently also produces some select sculptural pieces.
