September Sun Studio

This is not pet portrait related, but it is a little Wednesday reminder: be sure to schedule time for peace today 🙂‍↕️🕊️☺️🌊🦆 Pause, allow the waves to roll, and find peace within yourself.

Sending hugs! 🫂

Reflection time! This weekend my mom my job to a grief counselor.

Her reasoning was that I often paint memorial portraits for people to help them in remembering their pet that they’ve lost. While I appreciate the sentiment, I do have to say that I don’t think I do nearly the amazing work as grief counselors do in helping people move through this hard time in their life. But I will accept that my role is supportive during that dark time!

This is MacKenzie, a beautiful lab that passed away this summer. I painted her portrait for her humans to celebrate the beautiful life she had and all the love she gave her family. I hope that, in some small way, my portraits bring comfort and peace during the grief process 💗🐶🌈

For those who have allowed me the gift of capturing their friend who’s crossed the rainbow bridge, thank you for trusting me with such a special way to show love. I’m glad I could be a part of their story!

And for those currently grieving, know my heart is with you. It will get better, and they will always be with you. To quote Vision, “what is grief, if not love persevering?” 🦸‍♂️❤️🐶🌈

Imagine being so loved that your parents have you painted three times 🥰🥹

That’s the kind of love Lucy knew!! I loved painted Lucy multiple times and allowing each painting to really stand for itself. These portraits of Lucy (and Josie, in the upper left corner!) are some of my favorite portraits I ever completed!

🚨Holiday Orders are filling up!! 🚨

I have limited spots for holiday pet portrait orders! If you’re looking to give a portrait as a gift (or to get one for yourself!), please order soon! I suspect every spot will be claimed by Nov 1 🤞🏻 Message me if you have any questions!!

🎃🍂LET’S BOOGIE, BABY!🪩🕺

Here is my current schedule for the fall! I still have some dates pending so be on the lookout for an updated schedule 🤫

I’ve got a busy few months ahead and I cannot wait to meet you (and, obviously, see approximately 847 photos of your pets 😂).

I’ll be popping up all around NH and MA with live pet portraits, typically painted in 20 minutes or less! 🎨 Bring me your favorite photo and watch your pet become a tiny work of art right in front of you!!!

And if a custom pet portrait is on your holiday gift list, now is the time! My holiday order calendar fills up quickly, so come see me at a market to get your portrait painted in person or get that custom order checked off your list before the holiday rush.

As always, every September Sun Studio purchase helps give back to animal rescue organizations. So we get to make cute art AND help animals who need us. 🤎🐾

Swipe to see where I’ll be this fall ➡️

Which market will I see you at?

HAPPY OCTOBER, friends!!!!!🎃🍁🍂🕯️🥧

Here are three beautiful tuxedo cats on a piece of natural wood slice. I LOVE painting on wood slices like this. The natural grain, shape, and bark make every portrait completely one of a kind, and it feels so natural without feeling too rustic. The grain naturally complements the brush strokes and whiskers.

Want to see me painting in person? I’ll be out and about TWICE this weekend!

🍎 October 3 — Apple Harvest Day | Dover, NH
🐾 October 4 — Walk and Wags for Great Dog Rescue New England | Wakefield, MA

I’ll be painting live pet portraits at both events, so come say hi, show me ALL the pet pictures, and leave with a tiny painting of your best friend!

And, as always, a portion of my profits goes right back to supporting animal rescues. 🐾 see you soon!!!
