My friend came by and showed me his every day carry knife that I made for him many years ago. This little blade is kept in its simple sheath. I was in awe of how beautiful the sheath had become from its years of heavy wear. Real leather only becomes more beautiful as it adds it's own character and patina. I oiled it up for him, but had to snap a couple of pictures to show its rustic charm.

It was my pleasure to gift this key chain to a dear friend who God blessed with a new home this year. It is 100 year old horse bridle leather that I salvaged from a barn. This beauty was a kit that my beautiful wife got for me many years ago. It has buffalo bone scales, a deer hide lace wrapped solid brass bolsters, and a beautiful Damascus blade. Unfortunately my leather working skills were still in their infancy. I had always said I would make a new sheath for it.

I finally had the time to keep that promise. I made a buffalo hide sheath with a beaver tail drop as well as 2 brass cones with white deer tail. Finally a sheath as magnificent as the knife.

I finally got my stitching workshop set up again. It was such a blessing to make some hand made Christmas presents again this year. You know, not a house. :)

This is a beautiful veg tanned cowhide key chain with a rattlesnake insert, solid brass ring, and some of my finest top stitching I have done.
