Our Moody Office is coming together beautifully. I always tell my clients it's like getting dressed. The room gets its own Outfit....What's the event? Where are we going? Different vibes for different rooms.

Looking back on one of my favorite projects. As a designer, I know there is always potential. I can see past this, because I've done it before. I see what can be, not what is. I'm not always able to convince people of that. It's hard to let go and trust someone else. I get it. And that's why I'm so grateful when it's a good fit naturally.

The projects that we take are the ones that make us want to get up every day. Today is a really special day. We begin another kitchen. The excitement has been building for months. The preparation and plans are all coming together. Are you ready to see it??? Stay tuned!

Funny story I told my new kitchen client. She had to clean out her cabinets before we can start. She found a brand new KitchenAid mixer and guess who got it??? ME!!!!

Being motivated doesn’t start until you take action in anything. Deciding that you want something different.

I always loved going back to school. I love getting all the new supplies, new clothes, seeing old friends. Summer is almost over and you might not be in school, but you still have time to apply that back to school energy to your home. I absolutely know I make a huge difference in people‘s lives when we remodel homes, especially Kitchens. I cannot wait to share this new one starting September 1.

And yes, having a pretty office does make me happy every day.

This is why I have a huge amount of respect for Real estate agents who can sell clients on "LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION" . There is so much to take in and seeing it in person today left me speechless.
The highlights:
Metal cabinets, bathroom tile on soffit,
the ALL IN ONE area: Pencil sharpener, Bottle opener, Knife holder and Paper towel holder.
The Lighting and electrical package- thoughtfully placed vents and outlets everywhere you don't want to see them. Was this the dream of a preschool teacher? No just a very determined Engineer building his own Masterpiece.

Being complete transparent in this interview. Perfectionism can be a strength and a struggle . It’s easy to get lost in my creativity, and grateful for a job that allows me to do something I really love!

There are so many hours I spend curating a room, I can't leave it to chance. You will rarely find anything mass produced in my home or designs. It's just not me. I want the unique, bespoke and custom. I want the found, collected and treasured. I want the stuff with the stories and memories. Those are the things that bring me JOY in my own home and yours.

Most of the most precious collections have been gifted to me. This vanity for instance- didn't fit in a client's new design. She was grateful to give it away for free to someone who would enjoy it.

Same for the little Staffordshire dogs. Another client was given these dogs 40 years ago, just because she admired them in someone's home. When she moved, she gave them to me because I loved them so. How sweet is that?

If you find yourself just buying more and more "stuff"...it might be time to focus more intently. Most people are surprised to see what I pull from the piles during a consulation.

It's hard to describe changes, but these images capture it better than I could with words. These are just the preliminary ideas.. I even put the family's beloved dog into the scene. This is a big one...the friends that become clients mean so much to me personally.

SWIPE FOR THE CURRENT : Walls, posts and choppy spaces are not a problem for me. The "bullpen" kitchen is going to get a major update. I can't wait to share how this develops...Stay tuned.

You still want a white kitchen? It will always feel timeless if you are intentional about the design. The details and layers you need to choose so it feels less like a laboratory and more like a home.

* NOT so much Stainless steel...it will feel more like a morgue
* Warm finishes- Gold handles or Light fixtures instead of Nickel or Black
* Accent color on Island or Cabinetry makes it feel more like a piece of furniture. NAVY, BLUE or even wood....
* Wood- Wood tones that are NOT orangey/yellow. Dark Walnut, Pecan or lighter Oak...Flooring
* Soft touches- rugs and window treatments
* Did you go too far into the FARMHOUSE style? NO problem Take down the Cow picture, Fresh Egg sign and any art with WORDS on it...
