Last Sunday we said our official goodbye to our beloved little storefront, in our charming little town. Just over a week later, surrounded by every item the shop once possessed (send help!), we’re looking forward to this new change of pace.

Thank you for every visit, introduction, conversation, and purchase. You all have no idea what your support has meant to us! We’ve truly had the best year getting to know so many of the fascinating people in our community. Although we know it won’t be simple, we hope we can still reach our neighbors to provide them with the excellent plants and botanical gifts they’ve come to know and love.

While we continue to update our website to support our change in headquarters we’ll be using our Facebook stories, as we’ve done in the past, to list some holiday cuties and some familiar tropical favorites! For now, pickup will be on Wednesday, December 3 in The District, with plans to add local delivery when the weather is warmer. We’re also very excited to lower our standard prices and to offer an additional 15% discount on the plants we list today, Monday 12/1!

We’re seriously going to miss seeing your wonderful faces walking the District, but we’re so happy to have made so many new connections in Harrison. 🤎💚

We still owe you all a post of gratitude, and the words will come to us soon, but right now we just want to remind everyone that we’re still here and excited to see you all at 1860 Taproom & Bottleshop tomorrow for the Pink Friday Ladies Night event! 💕🎀🪴

We’ll have a few holiday plants, and some familiar tropical favorites, along with some plant care essentials! Please help us make our first vendor event a success!! We would love to make them a regularity.

Hello again,

I just wanted to pop in to give everyone a big update!

Fortunately, the owners of my building have found a new tenant! 🥳 Unfortunately, that changes my plan to be in the District until the end of the year.

This weekend, THURSDAY 11/13-SATURDAY 11/15 will be our LAST weekend in the storefront. We will be using the following week to move out of the space at 126 to make room for a new and exciting retailer!

If you’re looking forward to the Macrame Holiday Workshop then you’re in luck! Lauren will now be hosting her workshop at another beloved District business, so make sure to follow Wild Web Macrame and keep an eye out for her next announcement. 🕸️💚

As I mentioned in my last post, Rootbound will still be around! In fact, you’ll be seeing us a lot sooner than you probably think.

If you’re in the District this weekend, be sure to stop in to the shop for the last time before welcoming your newest small business addition.

Hi friends,

This is such a difficult post to make. I’ve gone back and forth on what to say and when, and I’ve come to realize there’s no “perfect” way to say what needs to be said.

In short, we will be closing the Rootbound store front after Christmas this year. But just because we’re closing our store front, doesn’t mean we won’t be around! Our goal is to utilize social media and our website to offer plants and gifts, and to continue to collaborate with many of your favorite small businesses for workshops and community events! We’re also looking for ways to continue supporting your special occasions, so stay tuned for more information!

If you have a gift card you aren’t able to use in store by the end of the year, no worries. We’ll make sure unused gift cards are set up to be used on our website when the time comes.

Also, a huge THANK YOU to everyone that has supported Rootbound over the last year. From the many loyal guests, to my mother for helping out on Saturdays so that I can support my children during their sports seasons. Knowing that I had a far-fetched idea and so many of you decided you loved it is a really great feeling. Unfortunately, the sacrifice of running a store front has just been too large, and I now need to prioritize my family.

If you (or someone you know) are looking for an incredible space to rent in the District, please consider reaching out. I know two amazing people who make extraordinary landlords.

Lastly, this feels like an appropriate time to remind everyone that when you shop small you are supporting your neighbors and friends! Please don’t assume a small business is safe simply because you love it. 🤎
