sure to discover something you need or want. ARLO’s was opened in 1999 by Lonnie and Anita Richards, who have been collecting antiques for the last 35 years. ARLO’s flea market is at home inside the building, which was once known as the County Pride Grocery. The acronym ARLO’s was chosen as the name because it represents the names of Anita’s family members. The “A” represents Anita; the “R” is for her father, Russell; the “L” for Lonnie; and the “O” is for her mother, Opal. Buying anything from one item to those of a full estate, Lonnie keeps the stock at ARLO’s constantly changing. Their inventory boasts items from as far back as the late 1800s!!! Featuring an abundance of wood and oak furniture including desks, tables, pie safes with hand punched tin, chairs, dressers and china cupboards. ARLO’s also sells a variety of glassware made in West Virginia such as Homer Laughlin, Fenton, Blenko, West Virginia Glass, Paden City and Viking Glass. Some other popular items among visitors are antique oil and tobacco tins, old and new tools, Donaghho stone jars and crocks made in Parkersburg, iron skillets, baker’s cabinets and United States Army memorabilia, such as tins and stone jars.
