Molten gold, slate-blue clouds, and a river that catches fire at dusk. While I could be describing the Manhattan skyline, these same colors, textures, and abstract layers are what we brought indoors to make this waterfront home feel as alive as the view outside.

A one-of-a-kind denim stool with sculptural pleats. A plush velvet accent chair in deep river blue, finished with warm walnut and a touch of gold that echoes the sunset. And artwork so joyful it’s impossible not to smile. 💙✨

The blues of the water may have been the inspiration, but turning a blank white box into a warm, inviting place to unwind, entertain, and soak in every golden hour made designing this apartment such a treat.

It takes a village to build something special 🏡

We’re honored to share that this project has won a Home Building Industry (HOBI) Award from the HBRA of Connecticut!

Taking home one of the state’s top honors in home building is a milestone, but this win doesn’t belong to one person. Winning an award is a reflection of the team.

This award belongs to:
🔨 Our relentless crew, who brought the vision to life from bare studs.
📸 Our brilliant photographer, who captured the perfect mood. Andrea Carson Photography
🤝 Our network of industry supporters, whose generosity and friendship mean so much: Lora C Mazurak PWB Fairfield County HBRA of Fairfield County HBRACT Ashley Nicole Social Co.
🎨 Our partners and suppliers: Sherwin-Williams West Elm DC Kingswood Antique & Design Fairfield County Antique & Design
💛 And most importantly, our clients, who trusted us with their home and gave us the creative freedom to build something extraordinary.

Swipe through for a glimpse of the journey, from dusty construction days to behind-the-scenes styling to celebrating with the people who made it happen.

When our client decided to move from Miami to New Jersey, she wanted to bring a little of that Miami lifestyle with her. Dwell Done Well didn’t just design this apartment, we helped her find it. ✨

Her new home starts at the entry, where a stunning piece by Petra Barguss-Comerford sets the tone. The contemporary British artist is known for large-scale ink and watercolor works of ethereal female silhouettes suspended in rich, aqueous finishes. Here, a dancer leaps through swirls of indigo and blush.

Then we added the personal touches. Her matchbook collection fills a marble bowl that made the trip from her Miami home, so a piece of her story greets her every time she walks in.

And it wouldn’t be a Dwell Done Well design without a special find. This sculptural lamp was hiding in an antique pop-up, just waiting for the right home.

At DDW, we want our clients to feel at home, surrounded by the things that bring them joy and comfort. 🤍

There’s a reason we’re drawn to curves. 🤍

Straight lines tell a room where to stop. Curves invite you in. An arch softens a hard corner, slows the eye down, and turns an ordinary doorway into a frame, so whatever’s on the other side becomes the view.

It’s one of the oldest shapes in architecture, and it still feels modern because it’s so human. Nothing in nature is perfectly square: hills roll, rivers bend, and we relax in spaces that remember that.

In these three spaces, one curved line changed the whole feel:
01 · A primary suite where the arch makes the bedroom feel like a destination
02 · A powder room that proves small spaces deserve a soft entrance too
03 · A primary bath where the arched window, sculpted tub and round stools all speak the same gentle language

The best part? A curve doesn’t need a full renovation. An arched opening, a rounded mirror or a curvy chair can shift the energy of a room. Affordable luxury is all about choices like these.

🛁 We designed this walk-in shower to feel less like a standard bathroom and more like a private boutique spa. The monochromatic greys, recessed niche storage, and seamless glass enclosure create an open, tranquil atmosphere that transforms a daily routine into a ritual.

An accent chair is never an accident.

Sometimes it’s the treasure handed down, carrying generations of stories in its seams. Sometimes it’s the chair that holds your mother’s pillow, the one you leaned on growing up, or the blanket you reach for every evening. Sometimes it takes you right back to where you were, and who you were with, the day you found it.

And sometimes it’s simply the boldest statement in the room, and proud of it.

Whatever it holds, it tells the story of who lives there.

Which one would you pull up to?
