Hi! 👋 I realized it might be time for a little introduction—or reintroduction—for those of you who are new around here! 🐝💛

I’m Lisa, the maker behind BEEutifully Lit! I’m actually an educator by day!

What started as a love for vintage glassware and a little candle-making curiosity has turned into something I never quite expected. I rescue beautiful vintage and antique pieces and give them a second life by turning them into one-of-a-kind candles using locally sourced beeswax and 100% cotton wicks. No added fragrance—just the naturally warm, subtle scent of beeswax.

I’m the one behind all of it: hunting for the vessels (along with my neighbor who hunts too!), cleaning them, wicking them, melting and pouring the wax, hauling everything to markets, taking the photos, making the posts…and occasionally wondering how my “little candle hobby” took over an entire room. 😂

One of my favorite parts of BEEutifully Lit is knowing that every piece has already had a story before it ever reaches me—and now it gets to begin another one in your home. ♻️✨

When I’m not pouring candles, you’ll usually find me treasure hunting for my next batch of vintage glass, prepping for a local market, or convincing myself that I absolutely do need one more piece of glassware. 😆

Wait… aren’t beeswax tapers supposed to be dripless?

Traditionally, yes! A properly burning beeswax taper is known for its beautiful, clean, nearly dripless burn. But here’s the thing: even the best candle is affected by its environment.

This one is burning outside, and there are a LOT of factors that can turn a normally dripless taper into a drippy one:

🌬️ Drafts & wind can push the flame to one side, causing the wax to melt unevenly.
☀️ Temperature matters—warm weather can soften the wax before it ever reaches the flame.
🕯️ How straight your candle sits matters. Even a slight tilt can send melted wax down one side.
✂️ Wick length affects flame size and how quickly the wax melts.
🔥 And even where you place your candle can change the way it burns.

Candles are simple…but they’re also a little bit of science. 😉

So if your beeswax taper starts dripping, it doesn’t necessarily mean there’s anything wrong with the candle. Take a look at its surroundings, straighten it up, trim the wick if needed, and keep it away from drafts.

A little candle care goes a long way. 🐝🕯️
