I'm excited about this TEA that I started carrying. I've never been a big tea drinker mostly because I want lots of flavor in between my mug of coffee and the water I need to drink. I'm sensitive to caffeine,acid and even sparkling water irritates. I bought a couple packs of this tea as a gift to a real tea drinker. I sampled the Angel. So tasty! Minty with a slight floral/lemon background. These teas are made about 2 hrs from Hayward. Very fresh and healthy. I also have strainers if you don't like making your own bags. I'm going through lots of Sun Tea with our sunny days. It's soooo good!

A few more new items here at Yarn Harmony Gifts. A new solid color compression sock. The blue will be a nice option to the solid grey but we do also have fun colors in stripe pattern. Key chain alpaca heads-real fiber. Sets of Packer color hats and scarfs. The scarves are close to 7 ft. long. Those are 55% alpaca with acrylic so machine wash and dry..I'm trying to get more stuffies made with alpaca fiber. Currently besides alpacas, we have just 3 adorable Snowy Owls.

Many of you have fallen in love with a crew sock that I brought in a year ago. 3-tone colors in a soft, cushioning, non-restrictive band with a mesh fabric top of foot. Two new fun colors were added recently and I think they'll be a nice contrast to the more natural colors. I also recently received a new Scottish Tartan style hat. More new items posted soon! The store has been open since last Saturday. 10-4 tomorrow and 10-2 Sunday. Then open Wednesday again

For anyone wanting red yarn for the ICE melt hat or Valentines gift making, I have 3 skeins of each of these. Both are around 250 yds of superwashed merino/nylon. Sorry I didn't have time to make more. The skeins will be sold at un-dyed price. Will be working on more soon.

Last week was the first time that I heard about the silent protest during WWII wear people knit a specific red hat so that they recognized who was against the N**i. The hats became outlawed eventually. Well, it seems that others have also heard that bit of history recently and are buying the pattern and knitting for themselves and friends as a silent protest to the ICE issue. I have sold all of my true red yarn in just 3 days. I'm hoping to make a dozen or so skeins next week (I'm closed due to too much stuff going on so I'm not promising it will happen). I will post when I am back in stock. I do have some dark red acrylic and a magenta in a superwashed merino though.

I got a kick out of this.

My husband walked in yesterday holding a small gift bag with the proudest smile on his face.
"Happy birthday, babe. I got you something for your hobby."
I opened it up and there it was. A crochet hook. A perfectly normal, ergonomic crochet hook in this gorgeous deep purple color.
"It's a sport hook," he announced confidently. "So you can do your string sports."
I just stared at him. String sports. STRING SPORTS.
He continued, completely oblivious to my internal meltdown.
"You know, like when you're doing that thing with the yarn and making the blankets. That's basically a sport, right? You're always saying your hands hurt after."
I couldn't even be mad. The man tried. He genuinely thought he nailed it. And honestly? In his defense, when I'm deep into a project, hunched over my work at 2 AM trying to finish a custom baby blanket, muttering about tension and stitch counts, I probably do look like I'm training for the Olympics.
"String sports," I repeated, testing the words out loud.
"Yeah!" He was so excited. "And I made sure to get the fancy one with the grip thing. The lady at the store said it's ergonomic."
The lady at the store. Bless her heart.
I posted a photo in one of my crochet groups and the response was immediate. People were dying.
"String sports" is apparently going to be what we call it from now on. Someone already made a mock-up design for t-shirts that says “Extreme String Sports Champion.”
My husband walked by while I was reading the comments, saw everyone's reactions, and got this confused look on his face.
"Wait… is it not called that?"
Twenty-three years of marriage, and the man still finds ways to surprise me. I'm keeping him. And I'm absolutely using this “sport hook” for my next string sports session tonight.
Got three orders to finish — and apparently, I'm an athlete now.
