Hardwood flooring gems can be found in every corner of the world 🌎 — our job is to find them.

While traveling in Germany 🇩🇪, I came across Stile’s 🇮🇹 extensive library of wood species. One collection that immediately caught my attention was their selection of African hardwoods.

This natural Doussié stood out for its beautiful grain and distinctive color. I could see it being the perfect choice for a home with a tropical or globally inspired design.

Last Saturday, Brandon and I had the honor of attending the ASID California Peninsula Chapter Awards, where Bridgebay Flooring Inc. was proud to participate as a Scarlet Gold Sponsor.

It was a great evening filled with laughs, meaningful conversations, and an inspiring awards ceremony. We would like to congratulate all of the participants for the passion, dedication, creativity, and effort they put into their projects and submissions.

For me, the highlight of the night was presenting the Gold Award for Modern / Contemporary Residence over 3,000 sq. ft. to Sara Jorgenson of Harrell Design + Build in Palo Alto.

Congratulations to Sara ❤️ on this well-deserved recognition and on the creativity, vision, and attention to detail behind such a beautiful project.

What made the moment even more special was realizing afterward that it was a project we had been involved in. At the time I handed Sara the award, I had no idea.

This morning I had the opportunity to meet FuTung Cheng at Cheng Design in Berkeley during this week’s ASID event.

I particularly enjoyed learning more about the Ascension House in Los Altos Hills, as well as his work on a residence in Miami. What stood out most was hearing Fu-Tung walk us through his thought process, the elaborate methods behind each project, and the craftsmanship that brings it all together—but above all, getting a glimpse into his artistic mind. Hearing the stories behind the projects and seeing how he and his team turn an idea into something tangible made the presentation especially memorable.

Thank you, Fu-Tung, for sharing your work and perspective, Chihhui and the Teance team for the wonderful tea and hospitality, and ASID for putting together such a great event.

Earlier this week, I had the pleasure of visiting Marco Thome, COO of La Forestal Alto Paraná S.A.

Marco and I met at the NWFA Expo in Orlando, Florida, earlier this year. I promised him a visit, and I’m proud to say: promises made, promises kept.

I was very impressed with the capacity of his state-of-the-art factory 🏭 and look forward to seeing how we can work more closely together in the future.

Canada 🇨🇦, Mexico 🇲🇽, the United States 🇺🇸, Germany 🇩🇪, Sweden 🇸🇪… and now Paraguay 🇵🇾.
