The saying goes: "We do not quit playing because we grow old; we grow old because we quit playing."

That explains in part why toy collecting is so popular. What better way to revive memories and good feelings than an old toy of your youth?

We have beautiful vintage toys by Buddy L, Marx and others at Missouri River Chronicle Antiques. Walk down memory lane and visit them.

We're located at 1125 Helena Ave with entrance and parking on the Boulder Ave side next to Great Harvest Bread. We're open 11-2 on Fridays and Saturdays.

The Missouri River Chronicle Antiques

Our shop name celebrates the stories—the chronicle—of the West. The vintage house that holds our treasures became ours the same day the realtor sign went on the fence in 1991. The Fordyce family built the house in 1932. We became the second owners, wondering how we would ever fill the rooms of our new antiques store.

We rarely see an old thing without wondering if it has a story it needs to tell us, so filling the house has been easy (and fun).

Come see our great old stuff at 1125 Helena Ave. We're open Friday only this week, 11-2, and then back to regular Friday and Saturday hours next week. Entrance and parking are on the Boulder Ave. Side of the building.

'33 Ford is AI-generated, but maybe someday we'll have an old truck to park out front!

Early breweries aggressively created appealing labels, advertising and wares, like serving trays and ash trays. The proof of their branding success was usually measured by a steady stream of patrons, and by their longevity.

These days the best local collections often feature that special piece of hometown breweriana. Who wouldn’t love to have one of Helena’s six different Kessler B**r trays to show their friends?

Missouri River Chronicle Antiques carries a nice selection of Helena and Montana breweriana.

Located at 1125 Helena Ave, we’re open from 11-2 Fridays and Saturdays. The entrance and parking are along Boulder Ave. next to Great Harvest Bread.

We’re always interested in buying Helena and Montana advertising pieces, or collections. Please call 406 202 1814 for information or to set up an appointment.

Combine the beauty of our national parks with the auras of our indigenous people and it’s easy to understand why the best turn-of-the-century photographers were attracted to Montana.

Early photographers like F. Jay Haynes, L.A. Huffman, T.J. Hileman, and Roland Reed left many of their riveting images for us to study. We feature photographs, collotypes, photogravures, and post cards by those lens men, and others, at Missouri River Chronicle Antiques.

Come in and enjoy their work.

Missouri River Chronicle Antiques, 1125 Helena Ave, is open from 11-2 Fridays and Saturdays. Our entrance and parking lot are on Boulder Ave. next to Great Harvest Bread.

We also actively buy antiques, fine furniture, collections of Kessler b**r items and old Helena advertising pieces. Please call 406-202-1814 for information or to set up an appointment.

Many utilitarian turn-of-the-century storage vessels, like crocks and jugs, have a striking beauty. In our area and throughout the Midwestern Northern Plaines, Red Wing pottery could be found in most homes, especially before the advent of modern refrigeration.

These days Red Wing wares, crafted near the massive clay banks along the Mississippi River in Southern Minnesota, embellish many homes and are valuable collectibles.

Missouri River Chronicle Antiques always has a large selection of Red Wing crocks and jugs. Come in and admire the beautiful slips, rust wings or cobalt markings.

Missouri River Chronicle Antiques, 1125 Helena Ave, is open from 11-2 Fridays and Saturdays. The entrance and parking are off Boulder Ave. next to Great Harvest Bread.

We also buy antiques and collectibles, especially old advertising pieces. Please call 406-202-1814 for information or to set up an appointment.

When you use it to display your favorite collections, like Navajo pottery, or old wooden toys, or old fishing lures. The list is only limited by your imagination.

We have a great selection of antique bookcases in our store, including 2 exceptional barristers, a small arts and crafts piece and several enclosed glass cases.

Come in and shop this weekend. It’ll be hot outside, but cool inside our climate-controlled shop.
