Walls of Illusion Painting is a venture established by Jeffrey L. Rhoton who strives to bring Exceptional Interior/Exterior Painting, Decorative Paint Techniques, & "Museum Quality" Murals to homes and businesses in the Greater Nashville area. Born with a natural ability for drawing and design, Jeffrey made the decision to venture into the decorative painting field full-time upon graduation from c

ollege. Jeffrey performs many techniques including: Fine-Faux Finishes, Museum Quality Wall and Ceiling Murals, and Trompe l'oeil Painting (meaning: to deceive the eye). Most techniques may be rendered on both interior and exterior surfaces. Walls of Illusion also offers Basic Painting, Mortar Washes and Distressed Finishes on Brick Homes, and many other facets of painting on all types of objects and surfaces too numerous to mention. On this project I whitewashed the shiplap walls, did a grey/taupe wash on the ceiling, and repainted the doors “Stone” by Benjamin Moore in a semi gloss finish.🖌️

Here’s a “before and after” view of the patio doors from last week.

My client reached out to me to “re-wood grain” her set of doors that were began by another tradesman.

I sanded them down and used acrylic paint from Sherwin Williams to get the desired effect.

Lastly, I sealed the doors with an exterior urethane with UV protection in a Satin finish.

This piece is ready to head back to its Brentwood home!🖌️

Working on a clients chest repaint this morning (with my helper) 🐱 before heading off to work on another project today!🖌️

A homeowner reached out to me after another painter attempted to Woodgrain her patio doors using a gel stain product (first image).

I managed to sand the gel stain off and instead used paint to complete the project.

I then sealed it with a satin polyurethane with a UV protector.

I’m pleased with the results and so is the homeowner! 🖌️
