Hi everyone.... OK, been getting ready for the Fair, weaving, dyeing, and trying to sleep and get some rest before it begins... I will be showing from the 8th thru the 12th inclusive. The Fair is open from the 4th thru the 12th inclusive... Come and see what is up and see my newest creations, newest colors including my hair [which is now blue]….

I have been waiting for Studio View Magazine, the summer edition, to come out only to find they are having publishing issues and it is not due out for another 9 weeks...OH well.... things happen beyond our control and we just have to roll with the punches.

Come December, I will be showing at the Boston Craft Show which the venue will be moved to a new location on Boylston Street... When I get more of the particulars, I will update Facebook as well as Instagram, which I need to get a bit of time to get rolling on that one too...Getting ready for the Fair has taken up most of my time especially with the minute details...too many of them but once I am there and setup, all will be good.. I just hope we have a break in the weather as humidity is not my friend, never has been....

So for the Fair, I will be there from the 8th thru the 12th inclusive in Tent 6, booth 611. I will also be showing in the Living With Crafts exhibit and the Craft Wearables exhibit... Come and see both of these well put together exhibits before you venture thru the tents and see what you can nicely expect.

OK, it is now nap time and believe me, I need it. I finished the final scarf for the show and did some additional dyeing today, 10 skeins. The 10 I dyed on Monday have been washed and dried and look great. I cannot wait to start weaving some new things with these newly dyed yarns...yes, bamboo....the sheen is phenomenal...My hands are another story...

AND for the Boston Craft Fair, I will also be doing pillows, men's ties [h**p and linen], and of course more shawls and scarves as well as some new art pieces...

So come to the League Fair at Mt. Sunapee and see what is new on the horizon. AND if you are brave enough, take the tram to the top of the mountain. You won't see me there as I hate those bloody trams....

I look forward to seeing you at the Fair... should be some new gastronomical delights this year as well as some new music. So if you do come, plan on having some fun and a feast for your eyes...….

Well, I have been absent for a bit trying to figure out what is next on my agenda... Certainly some new designs with some new color combinations and creations... I have been dyeing a lot and testing these new color creations on some designs, like a snakeskin design... Learned a lot as we all do when we try something new and different... Sometimes the result goes flying into the trash as an experience and other times, it works spot on... WHO knows when this will happen?????

Shortly, I will be posting some dates for classes in hand painting yarns and color creations... You may also check out the League of NH Craftsmen Gallery page in Meredith, NH as I will be teaching a class in March thru these wonderful folks... The class will be held in my studio as if we make a mess, it is easier to clean up without causing carpeting to become questionable...

IF you are looking for a specific date for you and some friends to take my class, email me at [email protected] with some potential dates and let us see what we can do to accommodate you and your group... BUT I will never work with more than 4 people at a time as I want everyone to have a good amount of one on one time with me... I want your work to be a resounding success, both visually and creatively...

I am in the midst of cleaning and reorganizing my studio... Not the most fun, but I think in the end, I will have a little more room AND see what yarns I really do have as some are boxed away for future projects... Nothing worse than buying yarn only to find out you had it all along...But it happens.....

A lot will be going on for me this year and as I make decisions as to where, when, and even WHY, I will post and hopefully you can join me in some creative fun...and even get dirty in the process...nothing says fun like getting your hands dirty!!!!!!

there will be shows this year and I am working on figuring out which ones... Again, I will let you know...

AND also, my art pieces will be shown in Studio View Magazine, a magazine that gets sent out to over 2000 galleries nationwide... Look for it at your local gallery.....

AND so, may everyone's woven dreams be fully realized into wonderful creativity that can be shared with everyone to enjoy...and remember, a mistake can be a most wonderful learning experience...

Who is Project Woven Dreams??????

Project Woven Dreams features the work of me, Douglas Alan Masury... I have been weaving for 5 years in the 1990’s and also have been weaving since 2007. In addition, prior to the current foray into weaving, I was creating still life photographs, shooting with a Leica R8 using a 90mm Leitz Lens... This photographic work changed my weaving from that point forward.... Still Life photography and weaving, for me, are much of the same meaning both utilize texture and color. It is from this photographic experience I translated what I developed and learned into weaving adding new colors and movement into my art pieces...

My current style/technique of weaving is based on color and texture that i learned from my experience in photography. I have sought to translate my vision of the world as I see it utilizing color and movement reflecting what I see day to day in life on this planet...

Color is very important as it affects how we feel and react to the world around us... Bland colors tend to make us feel bland and out of sorts whereas vibrant colors make us feel alive. Hence, this is what I strive for on all my woven pieces, whether they be wearables or art pieces....

Everyone is welcome to come to my studio and see for yourselves... IF you would like to make an appointment to see my work, you can either call me [831 419 2371 cell] or email me at [email protected].....
