On display for our opening night: Alyssa Joy is a self taught, eclectic artist based in LA. She was born in the Philippines and raised in the San Fernando Valley. Hunnid Hearts was created during a time where she experienced major depressive episodes and suicidal ideations. Art has been a direct healing of the emotions of her soul, mind and heart onto a piece of canvas. It was the outlet for darkness, she felt she carried. She is now an advocate for mental health and helping impoverished communities. She promotes that the pain doesn’t last forever, and there is a beautiful creation of art waiting to be produced. Her inspiration of art stems from the reminder that we must take advantage of our inner child and create external pieces of ourselves. Each series drop is a reflection of an experience from her life. As she says, “Within every creation, is a heart.”
