The Burkle starter pack, if you will:

Kitchen, bedroom, backyard, or powder bath, it doesn’t really matter. The same signatures tend to find their way in.

Something old.
Something unexpected.
A little mood.
A lot of texture.
One really good object.
And nothing too perfect.

What did we miss?

I was recently asked what I consider my greatest achievement in owning Burkle Creative. My answer was easy: when a client comes back and hires us again.

But being recognized by my peers might be right up there with it.

We’re honored to be named a finalist for the 37th Annual ARTS Awards. To be recognized by industry peers we respect, alongside colleagues whose work we admire, is something we don’t take lightly.

A big thank you to our team, our clients who trust us with their homes, and our collaborators who continuously help us bring the work to life.

Proud of this one. And looking forward to what’s next! 🏆

With the 2026 Kips Bay Decorator Show House Dallas designers officially announced, we’re reminiscing about our 2024 Sobremesa Lounge.

In Spanish culture, sobremesa is the time spent lingering at the table after a meal. Talking, sipping, and staying a little longer than planned.

That feeling became the starting point for our room, a reminder that the best spaces don’t just look beautiful. They make you feel something.

Javier is honored to serve on the Kips Bay Dallas Alumni Committee and can’t wait to see what this talented new class dreams up. 💭

We’ve come a long, long way together.

A mood, a vision, and now… The Orangerie.

Proud to unveil our Design Ambassador Vignette for Dallas Market Center 🌿

Introducing The Orangerie. 🍃

I’m incredibly proud to be part of the Dallas Market Center inaugural class of Design Ambassadors and to bring this little world to life through our vignette.

I’ve always treated my backyard as another room of my house. It’s where I entertain, where I unwind, and more often than not, where everyone ends up staying a little longer than planned.

The Orangerie grew from that idea. I wanted to blur the line between indoors and out and create a space that could be part garden room, part cocktail hour, and entirely meant to be enjoyed.

🌳 Pot orchids in the afternoon.
🌳 Pour a drink at five.
🌳 Invite everyone over for dinner.
🌳 Leave the doors open and see where the night goes.

Join us today from 4–6 PM at Dallas Market Center for the unveiling of The Orangerie alongside Yates Desygn

Doors open. Drinks poured. We can’t wait to welcome you in. 🌿

We’re growing our team!

Burkle Creative is looking for a full-time Project Manager to join our Dallas office.

We’re looking for someone organized, proactive, detail-oriented, and excited to work closely with our design team to bring projects from approval through installation. For the right person, there is also opportunity to grow into a design role over time.

Interested or know someone who would be a great fit?✍🏻

“But does it match?”

It’s a question we hear often, and one we’d argue matters a lot less than whether it works.

In fact, we usually don’t want things to match too perfectly. A room gets much more interesting when something old sits next to something new, or a piece feels just unexpected enough to shake things up. The secret is making sure there’s still a connection somewhere, even if you can’t immediately put your finger on it.

So next time you’re wondering whether two pieces match, ask instead: Do they make each other more interesting?

If the answer is yes, you may have found your match. 🤝🏼

Have you ever noticed the golden egg sitting at the center of Javier’s dining room table? Did you know it’s Christofle’s modern interpretation of an 18th-century knife urn?

Better question: have you ever even heard of a knife urn?

Originally used to store cutlery and displayed as decorative objects in dining rooms, these ornamental pieces have been around since the late 18th century. And Javier is predicting they may just be the next big thing in antique collecting.

As he tells Southern Living part of their appeal is the mystery. The best objects are often the ones that make someone stop and ask, “What is that?!”

So consider this your sign to start hunting. 👀

Thank you Southern Living and Heather Bien for including Javier in “6 Collectibles That Could Soon Be In High Demand, According To Experts.”

And if you find a great knife urn before we do, we’d like to know about it. 🏆
