Hi, I’m Alice.
As we settle into the new studio, it feels like a good time to (re)introduce myself and share a little about my work.
I’m the founder and principal of Shialice Spatial Design [SASD], a Los Angeles-based interior design studio. We create warm, personal, and layered homes that celebrate our clients’ personalities and stories. Our goal is never “perfection” but to create homes that feel distinctive, considered, and deeply personal to the people who live there.
I’m especially drawn to spaces with history, character, or potential that isn’t immediately obvious, and to the process of uncovering what they can become. I love seeing the possibilities: resolving a difficult layout, responding thoughtfully to a home’s architecture, or creating richness and character where none existed before.
Though I always knew I’d pursue design, my path wasn’t linear. I studied economics (hated it) and later spent more than a decade in tech marketing before quitting a job of seven years. I eventually found my way to interiors and fell in love with how creative problem-solving and aesthetic intuition impact people’s lives.
I love a good antique rug, am extremely particular about light bulb specs, very good at form+function custom furnishings, tailored drapery, and watching talented trades and artisans bring our visions to life.
