Custom insulator #1
Beverly Bruce contacted me to make custom insulators for her and a friend. She and the friend are traveling across Ohio visiting all the counties.
She had some specific requirements and some "if you can work it in" items that she wanted on her insulator.
The challenge for me when trying to accommodate a variety of images is how to make it flow and not look like random images placed all willy-nilly.
The insulator was designed with their adventures in mind. Some of the must haves were: covered bridge, nature, road trips, coffee, America 250, beaches, sunset, and if I could work it in flamingos, hummingbirds and flip flops.
I feel like I'm missing a few, but you get the idea.
So my idea was to capture their travels on the insulator as they drive across a covered bridge after just getting coffee. The coffee shop just happened to have a hummingbird feeder right outside the window.
As they drive they see rolling hills, trees, nature, flamingos and someone who kicked off their flip flops and forgot to come back and get them. 😊
This was so much fun to design. It really makes my creative juices flow when I have to put so much thought into a design.
