This morning I took advantage of the cooler temps to gather some seeds.

I didn't know what to expect when we planted the wild flower garden. At first I had high hopes that it would be a lush field full of flowers. But in reality we had one area full of flowers and then it was hit and miss in the other areas.

I'm not discouraged because what did bloom was gorgeous and I had a perfect view of it from my office window so throughout the day I would glance out the window and smile.

Now I'm learning all I can about seed collection so I can add more to the areas where we didn't get as much growth.

Oh, and don't worry we will have plenty of seeds for the birds to eat over winter. 😉

Photo dump of all the pics I've taken so it will appear next year in my memories and I can see how much change has taken place.

This is not my typical post. I may not even keep it. Sometimes it feels good to jot the thoughts down and get them out of my head.

So if you want happy, funny, sunshine and rainbows keep scrolling. If you want real talk, real feelings, pull up a chair grab some popcorn and enjoy the rant.

"Oh, I didn't know you use stickers".

I usually respond with "if by stickers, you mean adhesive vinyl... yes, I use them in my designs".

I've been careful in describing my work by using words like "hand crafted" and "paints and decorates" because it's not all paint. In fact, I'll use whatever medium achieves the look I'm going for; fabric, buttons, decoupage, etc..

I think the reason the word stickers bothers me, is it feels, less than. And I've felt less than my whole life. Never quite good enough.
Of course I would love if I could paint clean straight lines and achieve the look I want without using the vinyl images. But I can't.

There are some other advantages of using the vinyl. Light can't pe*****te the vinyl, like it can paint. I have to put primer and a couple coats of paint to keep the light from shining through. I think, the 2D effect I've been able to create in the insulator is due to vinyl.

I wonder if other crafters get similar comments. If a knitter uses a loom, do they get snarky comments because they are not knitting by hand?
