Guest Bedroom 2 | Concept Development

A guest room should feel considered, but never overworked.

For this space, we built the design around warm bleached oak, woven cane, soft linen and a muted blue-gray palette—natural materials with enough variation and texture to keep the room from feeling overly coordinated.

The floor plan came first. From there, every layer was selected to support the architecture and function of the room: furniture scale, circulation, lighting, textiles and material relationships.

Quiet. Layered. Relaxed.

A small powder bath with a lot of personality.

For this space, I paired the Reef wallpaper with a soft patterned tile wainscot to create something playful but still elevated. The mink-stained oak vanity brings warmth, while the arched brass mirror, aged brass hardware and wall-mounted Kohler faucet keep the room feeling polished and intentional.

Because the room is narrow, every detail had to be carefully considered from the 36-inch vanity and vessel sink placement to the lighting, mirror scale and transition between tile and wallpaper.

This is exactly what I love about powder baths: they are the perfect place to do something a little unexpected.
